  • Thinking of Sweet Circles

Posted on April 9, 2021 9:32 PM by Julie Comment

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC801), we’re headed to a lovely Pinterest Board & I found so many pictures I loved. I kept coming back to THIS picture, though, so I used it for my inspiration. All the lovely watercolors in the palette reminded me of this multi circle die. As side note, I always see the pretty little ceramic palettes w/ watercolors in them & they look so good. Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to have breakable things like that in my craft room. So plastic it is! (And kind of messy at that.)

On my cards, I first die cut the large background die w/ all the circles out of watercolor paper, then used watercolors to paint in the circles & lightly color the background. When I put it together, I decided the w/c bg on top of the w/c circles was just too much, so I die cut a plain white version & did a mix-match ending up w/ 2 cards. The top backgrounds on both cards are popped up a little higher than the circle insets.

On this card, I die cut the fab new script word w/ shadow out of black & again in white, then switched them up. The rest of the greeting is white embossed on black. Then I added a few sequins.

I did basically the same on the companion card, but switched up the You die cut & used a different greeting to go w/ it. On both cards, I used a corner rounder to trim the card edges. A small one on the first card, & a med on this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Friendly Dahlia

A big congrats to Anna-Karin, the newest Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS736)! She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the emboss resist & layout, but used different images & dies & used a stamped & colored flower instead of a die cut flower.

For my card, I placed all the words from the clear set on my Misti, stamped them in Versamark, then white embossed them. I started w/ the lightest colors, sponged them over the embossing, from the top down, then used the darker colors from the bottom up. The dahlia was stamped, colored & die cut w/ the matching die & the main, one line greeting was stamped w/ the red versaclair on a small strip.

Here are the Copics I used for the dahlia.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Blue Deer

Posted on March 1, 2021 10:18 AM by Julie Comment

Welcome to March!  And it’s time for the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club March  Christmas Challenge! We have a year of new Christmas Challenges!  You’ll need to be Fan Club member but that’s easy…just click the blue link to find out how. Bet you’re wondering what the challenge theme is..I’d love to tell you but you’ll have to go see for yourself. Hint..I’m really loving the new theme for this year.

For my card, I die cut the wonderful deer in the circle out of cobalt blue & again out of white & stacked them a little offset. I die cut a larger circle & sponged the color onto it, then placed it behind the deer. The lg white background was stamped  w/ the snowflake frame in the blueberry ink & heat embossed w/ a sparkly, transparent powder. The greeting was embossed in white onto the narrow cobalt strip.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
