  • Holly & Plaid for Christmas

    Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

A big CONGRATS to Allison, the Featured Stamper (FS303) on Splitcoast this week! What a super gallery she has! After much browsing, I kept coming back to her Celebrate the Season card. I kept the Christmas theme, the plaid and layout but I used different images, made my own plaid background (instead of using designer paper) and used a different die cut for my frame.

The images are all from DRS Designs. I stamped the main image twice on white card stock, colored them w/ Copics and cut out the just the holly leaves on one to attach on top of the matching area on the base image. After die cutting my frame, I used a Copic marker to add some color inbetween the two dies on the raised area.

I used the plaid maker stamps and inks and a red Tombow marker to make my plaid background.  The cut out image was attached on top of my frame w/ a die cut fancy lattice behind it and a dark red piece of card stock behind it. A few punched snowflakes were added in opposite corners and my 5.50 x 4.25 card was finished.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Halloween is Drawing Nearer!

For today’s Ways to Use it Challenge (WT396) on Splitcoast, we are to include at least 2 round things on our projects. I just happen to have 2 cards that fit the bill. The first one, is very CAS (clean and simple). The images on both cards are from DRS Designs.

On the top card, the pumpkin and candy corn circle were stamped and colored w/ copic markers. Then I die cut them and the purple backing layers using both small and large Spellbinder circle die sets. For the background, I embossed just the right half using a Cuttlebug pumpkin folder. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

    Supplies:

    Stamps: DRS Designs
    Paper: Neenah white, dk purple
    Ink: Ancient Page coal
Accessories: Spellbinders circle dies, Cuttlebug pumpkin embossing folder, copic makers

For the second card, the moon and all those little round eyes count as my round objects. After stamping the ghosts and coloring w/ copics, I die cut them using the Spellbinders labels 21. I traced around the die and hand cut the black layer. The greeting was split in two and I used a small tag die for them. I cut the first half, turned the die around and cut the other half to get the same cut on both ends. The background was stamped w/ the orange/red Kaleidacolor ink and a punched fence was added at the bottom. The finished card is 4.45 x 5.50.

    Supplies:

    Stamps: DRS Designs
    Paper: Neenah white, black
Ink: Ancient Page coal, Kaliedacolor Desert Heat
Accessories: Spellbinders labels 21 & tag dies, Martha Stewart bat fence border punch, copic markers

  • Happy Birthday, Kelley! ODBD Surprise Blog Hop

    Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

We are so excited today to be posting a special Birthday Wish to Our Daily Bread designs owner … Kelley Holland! This is a very special birthday for Kelley, as it’s the BIG 50!!!

    Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

For my Birthday Card to Kelley, I’m using the fabulous Path of Life set. I knew it would be wonderful paired with the always terrific ODBD Exclusive Window Die by Spellbinders.

The scene was colored with Copics and I attached the die cut window on top. I elevated it slightly to add some depth. For the background, I embossed some Williamsburg blue card stock I had in my stash with a Quickutz stripe label folder. I added a border embossed w/ a Cuttlebug border. The same border was used on the window sill piece. The flowers were made w/ hydrangea, small sun and small daisy punches. The punched tea cup was colored w/ Copics and added just because… Under the window I stamped the birthday greeting and added the curtains.
