For my card, I black embossed the dots on the background, the 3 sizes of Dotted Flowers, the Dotted Leaf and also the sentiment. The flower centers and leaves were colored with the Tombow markers and then cut out and I used a stylus to add a little dimension to the petals. I used a couple of rectangle dies to cut the black frame and I placed the sentiment in the opening w/ twine bow on top.

These are the 3 colors of red markers I used and also my notebook.

Since we’re doing (mostly) blue cards today, mine showcases this wonderful Sunflower image done in blues w/ a little coral for an accent color. I think I’ve said this before but I try not to let reality get in the way of how I color things. You’ll probably never see a sunflower this color in real life, but I like it! And because I love a good contrast, I paired the shades of blue w/ a nice corally-orange dot paper. A big scallop die was used on the bottom strips and the 2 shades of blue paper are actually the flip sides of one sheet of textured c/s. I used a pennant die for the sentiment, added a little twine bow and some beautiful little Swarovski crystals. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Here are the Tombow markers I used to color my sunflower and the ink I used to stamp the images. Julie Warner - justwritedesigns https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com/

And last but not least, is my notebook page along with supplies I used. If you haven’t tried the Picksey Pick Ups, they are fabulous! Makes working w/ those little crystals an absolute breeze!

  • Colorful Crochet

Julie Warner - justwritedesigns - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.comAm I late? I hope I can still get in to the Tea Party (MMTPT151), but I bet I’ll have to sneak in the back way. See my card has corners and it’s supposed to be round. I tried, rahly I did (said in my best Katherine Hepburn voice-which is hard for a southern girl, dontcha know?)

I started out round…you can see by the center layers. But this card just wanted to be square. Who am I to argue? So I’ll just be hangin’ out by the back door and hopefully I won’t be alone.

All images are Our Daily Bread designs. I stamped the crochet circle image 3 times, colored two and cut them out in layers. One water colored flower only. Two was the the inside circle, cut w/ a Spellbinders circle. Third was the whole image cut w/ an ODBD matching crochet circle die.

For the big circle and square bg, I used water colors to make the bg and then stamped the crochet bg on top. I stamped and cut (w/ the matching ODBD border die) 4 strips of the crochet border to make the frame. As I was putting it together, I got to looking at the negative strips and decided to use them as well. So I added a little color to them and attached them offset behind the crochet borders. The sentiment is also on one of the negative strips. The finished card measures 5″ square.
