On my first card, I’m using the adorable Tommy Turkey. This little guy just makes me smile 🙂 I know turkeys aren’t usually this colorful but I wanted him all decked out in his Thanksgiving finery. We have a flock of wild turkeys that come through our back yard pretty regularly and I can assure you they are nowhere near as cute & colorful as this little guy. After coloring, I did a little out of the box on the tips of his feathers and sponged a little color around the inside while he was still in the die. I added a rusty brown frame and a few layers behind him. The stamped, die cut leaves and greeting are from Our Daily Bread designs. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.

Paper: white, dp (Basic Grey – Pyrus)

Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Distress Ink antique linen

Accessories: Copic markers, ODBD Fall Leaves & Acorns dies, Spellbinders A2 matting basics B dies, Candi dot

My second card uses the really cute Snowman Family set. Don’t they look like they’re having a great time? After stamping & coloring, I added a little Copic opaque white paint for snow on the tree and ground and also for the clouds.

After adding a white die cut frame on top, I white embossed some snowflakes on a piece of blue paper from the ODBD Christian Faith paper collection then attached it underneath my image. The greeting was stamped on a small oval and a stamped, die cut blue snowflake was attached on top. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.

Happy Thanksgiving!

A big Congrats to Julie, the newest Featured Stamper! Wow, what ginormous & beautiful gallery! I chose THIS card to case. I kept the colors and basic layout, but I used a die cut as my main element and moved the oval a bit to accommodate it.

This is a very CAS card. Made even easier because I die cut the pumpkin out of an already brayered/stamped piece I had. I didn’t like the way it looked as it was, so I die cut it & since the die cut is so open, it really came out looking much nicer 🙂 The greeting is stamped directly on the card front w/ the rust and textured white layers having die cut ovals around it. I added a bit more of the die cut flourishes around the oval.

Thanksgiving Pumpkin

Happy ist Day of November! Can you believe it’s already November? For today’s Free For All Challenge (F4A193) on Splitcoast, the subject is Falling Fruit. So I checked just to be certain and a pumpkin is a fruit, so there you go! This is a pretty easy card…I stamped the pumpkin w/ sunflowers twice (so I could cut out an extra sunflower), and colored them w/ Copics. Originally I was going to cut out the entire pumpkin, but I changed my mind and only cut out the left side. I embossed the right side w/ a rectangle die and die cut the white frame to put on top. I had the rusty brown strip left over so I put it behind and I liked the way it showed thru the cut out part. The greeting was stamped on the 5.50 x 4.25 card front and I was all done!
