A big congrats to Candee, the newest Featured Stamper (FS504) on Splitcoast! She has such a big, beautiful gallery! I kept coming back to THIS card so that’s the one I picked to case. I liked the little triangle trees & sparkle so I kept that, but I used different dies, different papers & a slightly different layout.

I’ve had this cute little die/embossing folder combo for a long time & thought it would be fun to use w/ some different scraps of glitter paper, metallic paper & some purple paper that was misted w/ shimmer spritz. So I die cut all the little trees, circles & rings and put it all together using some scraps of long strips & a piece of of a water color paper bg. The w/c bg was done using Distress inks & a craft sheet a la Wrinkle Free Distress technique. sparkle-joy-xcu-08044
The only thing I had a problem with was finding an ink that would stick to the silver metallic card stock circle for the greeting. After experimenting w/ some different inks, I found that Ancient Page did the best but I also heat set it just to be safe. In the open circles on the trees I also added a little stickles to continue the sparkly theme.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Today’s Inspiration Challenge (IC565) is a site w/ some beautiful dishes & I was inspired by THIS plate. I thought it also went well w/ colors from Tuesday’s Color Challenge (CC602). I don’t have the exact colors, so I came as close as I could using a combination of inks.

I die cut a white background, taped off the edges all around, then sponged on a combination of inks to try to get close to the colors. Then I stamped the Starry Bg first in the plum ink, then again in the white pigment ink across the top.

The black city skyline & white silhouette behind it were added at the bottom & then I put into my Misti & inked only the BIG w/ a black marker & stamped it 3 times to get good coverage. The Wish was die cut once out of white & once out of black & stacked together to add on top of the BIG. The lt gray layer was die cut & added underneath. Just a little Wink of Stella was added to the stars.

Here’s a look at the inside. I used the negative of the die cut as a mask & sponged the city silhouette across the bottom.

Since the challenge is Anything Goes, I went w/ a Thanksgiving card featuring a wonderful Pumpkins & Sunflowers collage image. After pulling out some autumn colored paper, I put the image in my Misti & stamped it onto ivory w/ the rhubarb ink, colored it w/ Copics, then overstamped w/ the Versafine. I quickly coated it w/ the embossing powder & heat embossed it. I love the richness the embossing added. It was die cut & attached to one of the papers. The larger paper was also die cut…I liked the little harvest element in the corner so I made sure to leave it.

The little Thanksgiving was also heat embossed & the Happy was die cut out of some of the same papers, but it the color wasn’t quite strong enough so I colored over it w/ the E07 Copic & attached it to an ivory version, slightly offset. I also added an embossed maple leaf that was fussy cut.

Here are the Copics I used..I went w/ more subdued colors to match the paper I used.
