It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper (FS525) challenge on Splitcoast. I chose Karen, aka redbugdriver, so a big Congrats to Karen! After much browsing, I picked this & this to case…combining elements of both for my card. I kept the cute little girl & layout from the first & the big heart & color from the second. But I used different images & different die cuts.

This cute little ballerina kind of reminds me of when my mom put me in ballet class. Except my tutu for the recital was green & orange…and the glittery fabric was itchy as all get out. My regular practice tights & leotard were pink like this little cutie; but we didn’t wear tutus for practice, thank goodness. Apparently I was a bit hyper. Mom also made me take tap, jazz &  acrobatics. Pretty much a full boat of dance classes.

My little pink ballerina was colored & fussy cut. On the front of the white panel, I die cut a big fancy heart then stamped the greeting off to the left & the feet of the ballerina on the right then attached my cutie on top.

Here’s a look at the inside. I put together 2 greetings for this. Below it are the Copics I used.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • ODBD May Release Another Look!

    Violet Hatstand cu09191
Today we’re taking another look at the Our Daily Bread designs May Release! The images are wonderful & the dies are,  well…to die for!
    Violet Hatstand 09192
For my vintage inspired hatstand card, I started w/ a piece of watercolored bg I had in my stash. The colors are kind of pink/violet & the paper has a texture so I stamped over it w/ the Medallion Bg using the grape ink. I like how the texture gives it a sort of worn wallpaper tapestry look. After die cutting it w/ one of the Pierced Rectangles, I used one of the Leafy Edged Border dies to cut the bottom & another to cut a dk violet strip to go under it. The image itself was colored w/ Copics & die cut. the little ornamental side pieces are from the die cut border. I didn’t have much room left for a greeting at the bottom, just enough to stamp one of the Medallion Greetings.

Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used.

    Good with Rope 09108
I love this sweet little Cowgirl image & she’s so fun to color. After I put her in my Misti, I stamped her w/ Memento, colored w/ Copics, then over stamped w/ Versafine. I did the same to the Boots & used the matching Boots die to cut them. I die cut a stitched rectangle w/ a stitched circle cut out opening for the cowgirl, then I used a curved border die to cut the bottom edge. I added a vintage pink layer behind it & did a little out of the box on her hat to place the layers on top of her. The greeting was added below the circle & the boots added on top. The little metal concho was originally a copper color & I added a rosy color to it w/ a Copic marker. It’s one I’ve had in my stash forever so I can’t even remember where I bought it.

Here are the Copics I used.
