  • Happy Thanksgiving!

    Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com
A big Congrats to Julie, the newest Featured Stamper! Wow, what ginormous & beautiful gallery! I chose THIS card to case. I kept the colors and basic layout, but I used a die cut as my main element and moved the oval a bit to accommodate it.

This is a very CAS card. Made even easier because I die cut the pumpkin out of an already brayered/stamped piece I had. I didn’t like the way it looked as it was, so I die cut it & since the die cut is so open, it really came out looking much nicer 🙂 The greeting is stamped directly on the card front w/ the rust and textured white layers having die cut ovals around it. I added a bit more of the die cut flourishes around the oval.

Congrats again, Julie! Enjoy your week! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

For my first card, I used a brayer and a rainbow ink pad for the leaf background. On the small rectangles, I used a small acrylic paintbrush and bleach to remove the background. The individual leaves were stamped, die cut and colored with Copics to match the background. The greeting was stamped directly on the 4.25 x 5.50 card front and the background strips and die cut leaves were added on top. These are the Copics I used for the die cut leaves.

On my second card, I stamped the pumpkin, colored it with Copics and die cut using the matching die. It’s attached to a die cut ivory rectangle then to a larger dk maroon rectangle. The greeting was stamped directly on a lined ochre piece of designer paper. The dotted dp was die cut then cut in half attached to the left side along with a green Fancy Foliage die cut. I also die cut a couple of the leaves out of the two papers. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

    Weekly-Favorite BEST OF 2013!

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Design’s February Release Blog Hop! you might want to start at the ODBD Blog so you don’t miss a thing.

I started by black embossing the Chalkboard onto white card stock, then used a brayer and a melon rainbow ink pad to roll on the colors.  I think it’s a great way to get a lot of color with very little effort. I also like how it reminds me of some of those restaurant chalkboards written with the neon chalk.  I  brayered another piece of white card stock and stamped the Honeycomb Background on top. With the big, bold solid centerpiece image, I wanted a more open image for the background so the honeycomb really fit the bill. After black embossing a smaller white piece with the Antique Labels Designs and Happy Birthday sentiment, I die cut it using the matching Antique Label die. I left the die in place and since it’s a much smaller piece, I sponged on the ink. I added a white layer behind the chalkboard, a yellow bow and my 4.25 x 5.50 card was finished.
