Star Ornament

Congrats to Deb Saaranen, the Featured Stamper (FS246) on Splitcoast today! I first met Deb in June/July 2009, her last month on the SCS Dirty Dozen and my first month there. We were also together on the Our Daily Bread designs DT in 2010. She has such a wonderful gallery and I chose her Memorial Day Poppy  to case. I kept similar colors and layout, but made mine a Christmas card, used different images and used punched bands instead of the flourishy dp Deb used. I also added a bow instead of a flower.

All images are Our Daily Bread designs.  For my version, I used 2 polka dot papers and one solid dp. On the center, dk bg polka dot dp, I added 3 punched bands across the center. The sentiment was die cut using a Spellbinders rectangle and a  Nestie resizing techinique I developed to make it smaller to fit the sentiment. It’s attached to a ribbon tag die cut. The star was stamped w/ white pigment ink and die cut using the new compatible Holiday Tags dies. The center panel has narrow bands on top and bottom before it  was attached to the larger polka dot dp. the finished card is 5.5 x 4.25.

Sorry I’ve been out of touch for a while – work has had me hopping and the hubster retired July 1, so that has added a few changes to my normal routine! Thanks for your sweet comments and for the birthday wishes! Are we all ever going to get together again? Feels like it’s been forever! Hope to see you soon!!
