Today, I have a fairly easy floral hello card in hot, hot colors. Like full on summer heat wave! The combo of pink, yellow & orange really sets this on fire. The same colors used on the background were also used for the flowers, but switch up the hot colors for cool colors & you’ll have a very serene look.
It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge FS950, so a big congrats to Carol! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the hot colors & floral theme, but I used different dies, left off a panel & used a die instead of the embossing folder for the background.
To make my card, I picked out some hot summer colors of ink & a few dies. I started by using big blending brushes & the yellow, pinks & reds over a 4.25 x 5.50 piece of white card. When dry (it had a lot of ink on it), I die cut it w/ the Quilted Stitch cover die to give it a little more interest. I wanted a little more white around the edges, so I trimmed it down a bit using the largest plain rectangle die. For the flowers, I used the same ink on another panel, but blended them on in strips & also added an area of green for the leaves & stems. Then the flowers were die cut out of this panel. The flowers were shaped a bit before attaching to the stems & finally the front panel. Hello was die cut using the Vintage Alphabet die & the Friend was part of a larger greeting. After die cutting it, I trimmed off the upper part to just leave “Friend”.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
