Winter Window

 X4!
A winter wonderland scene through and around a beautiful die cut window. Some big glittery snowflakes decorate the icy blue background and vellum between the window layers softens the look. The glittery look is continued on the curtains and snow covered ledge.

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC975) we are visiting Quiet Joy at Home & their Pinterest Board where I was inspired by THIS window scene. I liked the icy blue colors & sparkle of the lights.

My card is mostly designer paper with the addition of a die cut window. I die cut the window frame 4 times. Twice out of white card stock & twice of white card board. Each card stock piece was glued to one card board piece. The curtains & snowy ledge were die cut out of white glitter paper. I attached a piece of sheer vellum on top of one of the window cuts. The curtains were glued on top & finally the other window was attached on top of everything. The quadruple layers give it a nice dimension & also solve the problem of how to attach the vellum. Sandwiched between like this, glue isn’t visible. Before I attached the window to the designer paper, I glued some large glittery snowflakes to the background. The greeting was also stamped on a piece of vellum & the lower edge was cut w/ a cute little snowflake border. I will mention, from experience, not all ink stamps well on vellum. I used Brilliance graphite black & also heat set it just to be sure. On the backside of the vellum, I used a white Posca pen around the black letters to add a little brightness. The glue tape for this is hidden behind the greeting.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
