Christmas Pines


For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC837), we’re visiting Emerlyn Closet & their Pinterest Board, where I found THIS lovely image.

For my slimline card, I started w/ a panel of turquoise which I spritzed w/ bleach, then die cut. The pine boughs were stamped all down the left side & colored in w/ Copics. The pinecones, leaves & berries were stamped on white, colored & die cut w/ their matching dies. When I started to arrange them on top of the pine boughs, the narrow white outline around them seemed too bright. Instead of trimming them all, I took a Copic close to the bg color & went around the edges to make them blend in a little better. A fine line black marker was used to draw the branches to the berries. The cones, leaves & some of the berries were popped up a bit for dimension. I used a white Posca paint pen to add “snow” to the images. For the greeting, I used the same die as the turquoise panel to get the width, but moved the top & bottom in to make it much narrower, height-wise.
