My card was pretty quick. I have a substantial stack of backgrounds made over the last few years & sometimes I go thru them when I’m making a card. The times when I would get stuck for an idea, I would just make backgrounds & file them away. Or when I’m trying out a technique, especially if it’s messy, I’ll make a bunch in different colors or designs. So this is one of those bgs. It’s on glossy paper & it uses alcohol inks. I like the flowing colors & thought it looked good behind this wonderful barn scene.
After I positioned the image in my Misti, I stamped it (minus the windmill) onto the bg. First time, it didn’t work because I used Memento ink. That ink wiped right off of the glossy bg. So I did it again using Ancient Page. That’s my go to ink for glossy surfaces when I don’t really want to use Stazon. I stamped just the windmill on the right of the white frame & did a little into the window on the left of the windmill & die cut the oval center. Added the greeting & a black layer & done!
Here’s the inside. I left it blank except for the barn image which is light enough to stamp or write over. I’ll probably send this to my hubby’s brother who is in the middle of building a barn.Â
Please be sure to comment on all the blogs..it is much appreciated & also increases your chances of winning!Â

I like how you designed this card with the windmill outside the framed circle, very interesting!
I’m loving this stamp, beautiful layout with the soft colours on your glossy paper framed with the simple outline. Great idea with the stamping the outline inside 🙂
Love the colors in your background – so perfect for spring with just a touch of green and pink. And your layout with the windmill set off into the frame is just perfect for this image!
Lovely design and stamped image.
Beautiful card!!! I love how the windmill is over part of the oval. I read your description, but still can’t quite figure out how you accomplished that without some fussy cutting. 🙂 Maybe I’ll figure it out later. 🙂 🙂
Wonderful masculine card, great design! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful background

The barn scene.

What a soft, beautiful alcohol ink background, Julie! Love those rainbow colors with the barn! The added stamping of the windmill on the frame and a bit into the main design is a brilliant idea! Wow!
Love this barn image and the background you used.
The image is lovely, well done!
Beautiful shading on the barn.
Lovely card.
