Today’s Color Challenge on Splitcoast (CC566), is an interesting combo, pink, melon, & orange. I thought they would work well for a Valentine.

My Valentine is mostly die cuts w/ just a bit of stamping, but when you have such beautiful dies, it’s always a pleasure to use them 🙂 I die cut the white front w/ the largest Double Stitched die and the patterned paper behind it w/ the largest Flourished Star Pattern die. I put the white stitched panel in my Misti and stamped the Wishing first w/ the melon ink but it was too pink so I overstamped w/ a pigment ink called Picante. I did the same w/ the little You underneath it. The hearts & Love were die cut out of a melony/coral paper that has a faint silvery pattern running through it.  I die cut the pennant swag out of white then the individual little toppers out of different patterned paper to add more of the colors. I replaced the O in Love w/ one of the smallest hearts.

  1. I’m so behind in my blog subscriptions. This is such a wonderful card. How finiky the banner must have been but it certainly paid off–it’s gorgeous!
