A cute little kitty Christmas card w/ Christmas tree cupcake & coffee. Perfect for the cat & coffee lover.

We are visiting Nature’s Jewelry & their Pinterest Board for this week’s Inspiration Challenge (IC920). I combined a couple of pieces as inspiration for my card. THIS cat & THIS tree.

After stamping, coloring & die cutting the images, I die cut a large tree print paper & smaller white panel. I added a very narrow red layer in-between the two for contrast. The greeting was stamped on a separate rectangle & layered onto a fancy red oval.

I added some stickles to the ornaments, whipped cream & a couple of stripes on the cat’s sweater for a little sparkle.

Here are the Copics I used:

  • Gold Glitter Trees

A very glittery, gold Christmas card featuring some die cut trees & greeting. Easy to make w/ lots of impact. Change the paper or colors & you’ll have a bunch of finished Christmas cards in no time.

It’s my turn to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS858) so a big congrats to Vikki! She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the gold trio element & horizontal layout, but I used trees instead of leaves, added a layer of designer paper & a die cut greeting instead of a stamped one.

For my glittery gold trees, I used a roll of glittery gold wrapping paper & attached to plain card stock before die cutting the trees & Merry out of it.  There is one larger tree, but it was too tall to fit this direction so I used 1 medium & 2 small trees instead.  I attached them to a piece of ivory card stock, then attached this to a larger piece of green print paper w/ a very narrow ivory frame behind it. I die cut of the shadows for the Merry greeting..one in ivory & one in dk green. The Merry is attached as normal on top of the ivory. The dk green shadow was offset a bit to add some contrast.

The center tree & greeting were popped up to add some dimension & interest.

    Thanks

  • Santa Gnomes

A Christmas card featuring a pair of cute little Santa Gnomes on an envelope fold flap. Quick & easy to make w/ the coordinating images & dies. Switch up the  papers for many looks.

A big congrats to MariLynn, the newest Featured Stamper (FS857)! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the embossed snowflakes & winter theme, but I changed most everything else: different colors, images, dies & changed up the layout.

After coloring & die cutting the cute gnomes, I die cut the printed paper, first w/ a stitched rectangle, then I used part of another die for the envelope like flap. The paper is double sided, so the pointed flap green section is the back side of the Christmas print. I cut a smaller piece of white & used a snowflake embossing folder on it before attaching it to the green layer.

In case you want to see how I did the partial die cut of the envelope flap, here are a couple of pictures.

I placed the pointed die where I wanted to cut the rectangle. Since the rest of the die is the same size as the stitched rectangle, I knew it wouldn’t cut anywhere else. I placed the top plate just as far as it needed to go to cut the envelope like flap.

This is the finished cut. I later decided I wanted this pointy edge to be stitched as well, so I lined up the corner of a stitched die & ran it thru just on the edge. The gnomes & snowflake were popped up w/ foam.
