A flower thank you card, stamped onto dk grey & colored w/ Prismacolor pencils & a white gel pen. Be sure to check my post for hints & colors used..
A big congrats to Amber, the newest Featured Stamper (FS836)! She has a beautiful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the layout & flower thank you theme, but used different images, dies & colors. Instead of using the white wash like she die, i used Prismacolor pencils on my flowers.

For my card, I die cut the dk grey panel using the 2nd largest mini slimline die. By coincidence, it is just the right size for an A2 card. I used my Misti, both flowers & a pair of leaves from the stamp set along w/ the masks for the flowers (comes w/ the set), to stamp the images using gray flannel ink. Prismacolor pencils & a white Signo pen were used to color them. I die cut a pale grey & dusty pink panel to layer beside the dk grey.

The single flower was stamped onto a piece of the pale grey & again, colored w/ Prismas & a white Signo. This flower was die cut & popped up on foam. For the greeting tag, I stamped it w/ versaclair & clear embossed it. I used the smallest tag to die cut it. Then I moved the die a couple of times..both up from the bottom & in from both sides to make a much smaller tag.

Here are the Prismacolor pencils I used (listed on the pic in order from left to right). The pencils to the right of the white pencil are the ones I used on the single flower. The others were used on the flowers on the grey background. Those colors were too peachy to match when I colored in the single flower on the very light grey paper. Colors usually look totally different depending on what color you use for your background. For the bright white edges of the petals, I used the white gel pen & immediately softened it a bit w/ a water brush. The gel ink is pretty much water soluble (until it dries) & I wanted it to look a little softer & blend in more.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC896) this week and I chose Running with Sisters & their Pinterest Board. THIS was my inspiration. I loved the flowers & bright orange color.

For my mini slimline card, I die cut the panel & sponged on the apricot & nectar inks for my background, only going about 3/4 of the way up. Then I stamped a bunch of the 3 sizes of daisies onto copy paper and die cut them all to use as masks. I had already decided to bleach the petals but I needed the masks to arrange where to stamp, then mask the ones that needed it.

After stamping the daises w/ Versafine Clair ink (I used this because Memento just doesn’t stand up to the bleach very well), I used a synthetic paint brush to bleach the petals. FYI..the paint bristles  need to be synthetic because bleach will totally destroy natural bristles, so go ahead & use a cheap synthetic one. Depending on the ink color, bleach will usually not take the paper back to white. Since I used a red-orange, after bleaching, I got an off white. I also stamped 3 more daisies onto white & die cut them. These 3 are popped up w/ fun foam.

  • Christmas Ranch

Congrats to Gerry, the newest Featured Stamper (FS827) on Splitcoast! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept most of the colors, the southwest theme & layout, but I used different dies and made mine a Christmas card.

I started my card by masking a large circle for the moon, and another for the sky area then sponged in the colors for the ground. After reversing the mask, I sponged in the sky colors. The arbor and 2 portions of the fence were die cut out of white along w/ the longhorn skull. The wagon wheel and cowboy hat were die cut out of Kraft and sponged w/ brown inks. I used green for the wreath and cactus dies. After arranging and attaching all the dies, I stamped the curved greeting on the right,
