  • Easter Ducks

A sweet little Easter card with adorable little spring ducks. Mama duck in her Easter bonnet is pulling her duckling in a cart of Easter eggs.It would be easy to swap out this greeting for Mother’s Day.

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS895), so a big congrats to Sioban! She has a fabulous gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the ducks, cart & circle element, but I used different dies, turned it vertical & added a designer paper background.

The ducks & flowers were cut out of white & colored w/ Copics. The parts of the cart were cut using a few shades of brown & I did cut the length of the cart & moved the wheel in toward cart for a better fit. The big cracked egg that the duckling is sitting in is actually the artist palette. The shape was perfect for a large egg & I cut the tops in a zigzag w/ a pair scissors. The inset piece of the palette was also a perfect egg shape, so I colored 3 of them & stuck then in the cart w/ some sprigs of grass. The circle background behind the ducks was stamped w/ the faux watercolor images & ink that I spritzed w/ water before stamping, for a softer look.

I always look through my dies & images to see what I can use when I don’t have exact thing I want, so don’t be afraid to rearrange or alter your stamped images or dies to get the look you want.
Here are the Copics I used on my die cuts:

  • Espresso Bean Owl

A cute little owl card for that special someone who loves coffee & espresso. Super easy to make & fits in wonderfully with the coffee themed paper pack. Perfect for birthday, Mother’s or Father’s Day!

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS889), so a big congrats to Shelly! She has a really fun gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the owl & coffee theme, but changed the layout a bit, used different images, dies, paper & colors.

After coloring & die cutting this cute little owl, I used a mini slimline die to cut the narrow ivory panel & stamped the greeting onto it. A dark chocolate layer was added behind it & I popped it up a bit off of the coffee paper background.

A few stitched hearts in several sizes were die cut out of the same brown & also popped up a bit.
Here are the Copics I used for the little owl:

  • Hello Panda

A fun panda in a pocket card backed w/ some pretty monochromatic paper & using some lovely scalloped frames. With the different frames, it looks like you worked really hard, but it’s really easy & not much coloring.

It’s my turn to host the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast (IC948) and we’re visiting Doodle & Stitch & their Pinterest Board where I found THIS cute picture.

After stamping, lightly coloring & die cutting the panda & pocket, I die cut the white frame & the designer paper using two of the outside scallop frame dies. The grey frame was die cut w/ an inside scallop die. I really like how they fit & work together. I used a peach card stock for the pocket, but couldn’t find a larger piece for the narrow border under the monochromatic paper, so I used a Copic marker to color just the border that would show.

The panda & the pocket were popped up just a bit since the edges go over the gray frame. Two hearts were die cut (but not stamped) out of the same paper & added on the pocket.
    Here are the Copics I used (sorry it’s blurry..the colors are C2, C3, R20 & R22).

    Thanks
