This is the final day of the Serendipity Blog Hop and our last die to show you is this beautiful Ladybug! It is so detailed! The scoring and different size circles are just wonderful. It may be cliche, but I immediately thought red, white & black. A little funny, because ALL of the ladybugs we have around here are orange and black. Must be a different variety. Anyway, I die cut 3 ladybugs…1 red, 1 black & 1 white. The red is the main ladybug and I used the lg dots from the black version & small dots from the white version & I added dots w/ a white gel pen to the centers of the lg black dots.. I added a white die cut blossom layer underneath the ladybug and a die cut white flower.

The red background was stamped w/ a cute little ladybug image and some black & white dp that I’ve had forever seemed to be a good match. The greeting was die cut with a fishtail banner & I found a package of little ladybug clothespins so I added it to the banner. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Now I’ll send you on to your next stop…the blog of the wonderful Karen Amidon!

What a wonderful color combo we have this week for the Splitcoast Color Challenge (CC463)! Peggy chose Tangerine, Saffron & Coastal Cabana! And I went with dessert using a wooden shape. I know I have a baggie of those cute little wooden things, but all I could find was a bag of wooden buttons that had this little heart in it so that’s what I used 🙂

I sponged on the distress inks then stamped the two silhouette images. I lined up where the images would be on the front of my white card, and stamped them again so it looks like they go from the card to the sponged panel. I don’t know why, but I trimmed off a couple of strips from the right side but only added the narrowest back on, a little apart from the main panel.

The die cut oval sentiment was added along w/ the wooden heart. A few highlights were added with a white gel pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • To Have & To Hold

Time for another Color Challenge on Splitcoast (CC461) and week 2 for me as a Guest Designer for the Color Challenge! What lovely colors we have this week…Tempting Turquoise, Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe with a dessert of a frame (either stamped, cut out or drawn). So on my card I used a huge amount of a cantaloupe clone and tiny amounts of the turquoise & cabana. Instead of white, I used ivory for my neutral and for dessert, I included a die cut window frame.

I stamped the greeting, die cut and with the die in place, lightly sponged on the pink & salmon inks ( I don’t have the exact colors so I used a combo to achieve the color). The lily corners were stamped several times, colored w/ Copics and fussy cut along w/ 1 small butterfly. The cantaloupe background piece was spritzed w/ bleach to get the splotchy look.

After die cutting the window frame out of ivory, I added a piece of vellum behind it before attaching all the pieces. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.
