    Angel Greetings 07951
For my Christmas card, I started with a background I made on water color paper. I used some Distress Ink pads, smooshed them onto a kraft sheet, spritzed w/ a little water, then pressed the water color paper to it. I did one color at a time & dried it w/ a heat gun, then did the next color. This keeps the colors from running together & becoming muddy. When I finished, I die cut the layers & added the grape card stock in between.  The angel, greeting & very narrow layer around the center panel were die cut out of white glitter card stock. I also die cut another 2 angels & 1 greeting out of a darker purple to shadow them.

On the inside, I stamped the And the Angel Said, die cut it, then edged it w/ a purple Permapaque marker. I went over the edging & a little more w/ a Wink of Stella. I discovered the Wink of Stella made a little of the purple run so I used it to drag a little purple in toward the greeting. I also used it to add a little color to the white angel die cut.

It’s no secret that I love scenic images & I LOVE to color so this month’s release is definitely in my wheelhouse (pardon the pun). For my first card I used Copics to color the Living Water image, then I over stamped w/ Versafine because I love how it brings out the details.  The water at the bottom of the image was extended a bit by turning the image around & stamping just the water part again (upside down). I had some rusty barn red card stock that I had spritzed with bleach & it looked really good w/ the colors in the image so I used it for the framing. To make the white frames, I die cut using the fabulous new Double Stitched Rectangles, Rectangles & the largest Double Stitched Circle for the opening around the image. I trimmed off the edges a bit on the smaller rectangle using one of the matting basics because I wanted a bit of the red to show though then I attached the larger frame on top along w/ the greeting circles & a few Candi dots.

Here’s a look at the inside using the leftover circles…a little simple, but I liked the asymmetrical look of it  & below it are the Copics I used.

For my second card, I used the beautifully scenic Safe Travels. I made a background on water color paper using regular pan water colors & a little Brushos water color crystals. I added the colors, approximating where the image would be, dried it w/ a heat gun then stamped the scene in Versafine. Bridge 07907
A few more detail colors were added after it was stamped then I used the Rectangles & Double Stitched Rectangles to die cut the main image. I had to do a little out of the box to keep from trimming off the tree tops. On the rest of water color background, I stamped the trees & tree tops again to make it look as if there is a forest on the layer behind the bridge. A stitched rectangle frame was added on top & then the rest of the water color background added behind the image.

This is the inside using some of the leftover water color bg & one bridge I fussy cut. Originally, I was going to put this greeting on the outside but since it’s a little bigger & covered up much more of the bridge, I put it on the inside.

Three wonderful challenges today on Splitcoast & I was able to combine them! The F4A297 (fall colors), the MIX144 (fall colors), and HYCCT1530TEAM (turning you loose). The first 2 are pretty easy to see..for the MIX I have a combo of Distress ink/watercolor in my background, Copics & Versafine ink on the image. Hope that’s enough! For the HYCCT, I used the Wrinkle Free Distress tutorial. I don’t think I’ve ever done it before & I added another wrinkle because the bg is second generation. I had a combo of Distress inks & a little water color on my craft sheet & when I lifted the w/c paper up, it had way too much on it so I pressed another piece of w/c paper to the w/c sheet I just lifted to soak up the excess.

After I dried the bg, I used a Sizzix die on opposite corners & attached it to a dk green bg. The image was stamped w/ Memento, colored w/ Copics then over stamped w/ Versafine. I used a pierced square die & also did a little out of the box on the top of the image. The leaf pile was fussy cut & added on top.

Here’s a look at the inside using leftovers & below it are the Copics I used.
