For my first project, I’m using the fabulous new St. Patrick’s Day set. I was in a real gold embossing mood, and I used a lot of gold embossing powder on both of my cards. But I just love gold embossing with the spring greens on a St. Patrick’s Day card. Since as a general rule, embossing powder & Copics don’t play together well, I stamped the frame first with Memento cantaloupe ink, figuring that the color would blend in with the gold. I added the greens in the frame with Copics, then used a stamp positioner to line up the frame again, stamp it with gold pigment ink, then heat embossed w/ the gold powder. The Irish Blessing was gold embossed inside the frame, die cut, then added to a green fancy die cut.
For the largest green & gold layer, I gold embossed the Vintage Pattern Mini 2 then sponged on two green inks & die cut w/ the largest of the Flourished Star Pattern dies. The metallic gold rectangle was die cut using the same die, but I had to resize it to make it smaller. I also did the clover image the same way as the frame, cut it the added it under the frame. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used (the violets were used on the clover flowers, but are very hard to see).

My second card uses several new ODBD sets…Floral Egg, Blessed Easter & Â Basket of Blessings sets. I started by making a large water color background with Twinkling H2O’s in pastel colors. It’s almost impossible to capture the subtle shimmer, but it adds a lot in real life. I then gold embossed the Floral Egg & smaller eggs; die cut the smaller eggs & fussy cut the large egg. The grass was die cut using the fabulous Grass Border die and I made a frame out of the left over background & gold embossed the greeting on it.
The pink gingham (from the gorgeous new ODBD Shabby Rose paper collection) was die cut using the Flourished Star Pattern die (do you think I LOVE this die?) & the remaining twinkling background was added underneath. I used some leftover eggs and pieces for the inside.
