Holiday Season

Fun TLC challenge (TLC489) and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to case my friend Karen for the CAS (CAS280) challenge. Karen’s one of my very fave friends and I wish I could do CAS like she does. She’s the master!!

So for the CAS challenge, I picked THIS card of Karen’s. I love the color combo and little tree line. I did add the colored embossing instead of the dp Karen used. After I embossed the flurries, I used a white marker to color the embossing. The stamped tree line was cut around and added on top.

I also added some curved sections similar to Karen’s and embossed one w/ dots. A couple of cute little houses/bldgs were added just ’cause (they’re new!)

Another congrats to Nancy, the newest Featured Stamper (FS387)! Such a wonderful gallery and I had my eye on THIS card of Nancy’s. I kept the cute bee theme and colors, but I used different images, a different layout and omitted the sequins and banners.

After stamping the hive, bees & two greetings, I colored them with Copics and die cut the right edge then edged the whole panel with a bright yellow Permapaque marker. I stamped the honeycomb a few times down the right side of a black panel using white ink then added some small punched yellow circles in the center. I stamped one extra honeycomb, cut it out and added a little yellow button in the center. These are the Copics I used to color everything.

Sweet Apples

Just a quick card for today’s Inspiration Challenge (IC448) on Splitcoast. I was inspired by THIS picture. I love the 3 little apples and they remind me of the 3 apples in this image. To me these look like red delicious so that’s the way I colored them. After coloring, I fussy cut them to add to my kraft panel. For some reason I usually think of a kraft background when I see these apples. See the border? It’s part of a larger image, meant for the back of a card or an envelope. I inked just one of the borders of it and stamped around the edges then used a white gel pen to accent it. The kraft panel and card front were die cut with a stitched border die set.

The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.
