A big Congrats to Janette, the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS313)! What  a super gallery and after much browsing, I chose her Watercolored Lily to case. I kept the colors and lily as a main image, but I used different images, die cut my layers and changed the layout a bit.

The images are from DRS Designs. I stamped the Calla Lily Sympathy once on my main panel and the only the lily image again on a separate piece. I added some color using Copic markers and cut the extra lily out to attach to the base lily. I used a Spellbinders Romantic Rectangle for the lily panel and I used a larger Resplendent Rectangle for the light green layer. I resized this layer using a technique I call Nestie Resizing in order to make it a little shorter in length. The sentiment was stamped across the bottom of the darker green panel before I attached to my 4.25 5.50 card and added a bow I made using a mini Bowdabra.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Congrats again, Janette and enjoy your week!

  • Green Lily Sympathy

Congrats to Debbie, the Featured Stamper this week on Splitcoast (FS283)! Such a wonderful gallery! I chose her CAS Sympathy to case. I kept the colors and layout and sympathy card but I changed the papers, images and used a punched butterfly instead of a stamped one.

The image are from Our Daily Bread designs. Sadly, I needed a sympathy card and I thought Debbie’s layout and serene colors would be perfect. The images are new from Our Daily Bread designs.

I first white embossed the lily image on the green, but I didn’t really think it looked the way I wanted. So I stamped it in black on another piece of the green, bleached the lilies then added color w/ markers and cut it out. I attached it a little down on the white embossed one so a little of the white would show. I also painted a little bleach on some of the corner elements in the border image. The sentiment was stamped directly on the designer paper and the double layer butterfly was added below. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Today’s Technique Lover’s Challenge ( TLC374) is a real challenge! Holly really knows how to put a crimp in my style, lol. In one fell swoop, she took out half of my stamping arsenal! I really love my dies and embossing folders. But it’s good to get back to the basics now and again.

This also is very CAS (clean & simple) which is also out of character for me. I’m also combining it with yesterday’s Featured Stamper challenge (FS272) and once again, I cased Karen’s Rainbow Branches. I really love that card! I kept the rainbow, similar layout and CAS design, but I changed images, added a ribbon and some scoring. The images are Our Daily Bread designs.

So for my CAS card, I used a couple of rainbow ink pads I’ve had since time began. For the sentiment, I added an eyelet and ran some ribbon through it. (Holly said we could use eyelets and 1 ribbon!). The bottom part was scored w/ a bone folder so old it’s actually kind of formed to the shape of my hand, lol. Nothing new (except the stamps) or fancy here…just back to the basics!

    Thanks so much for looking!
