Welcome to the May Challenge for Serendipity Stamps! This month the challenge is My Girl (feminine card)! You can get all the details over on the Serendipity Challenge Blog.  We have something new…a “Stamp of the Month”. Each month a different image will be 50% off. This month- it’s the Aprons. Be sure to check out the great deals on the Clearance Stamps, too. And as always, we have a  have a gift certificate up for grabs to a random player.

Well, the added the challenge for the DT is a partial die cut…and I totally missed it. I was looking forward to it but I just had it in my head that it was for the next challenge. 🙁 I do have a partially embossed background so maybe that will suffice.

I started by stamping the Summer Flower Pops Background with the combo of chalk inks onto white card stock then I die cut one large, one small rectangle & one oval to back the greeting. I edged the rectangle layers with blue & green permapaque markers to give them a little more definition. The greeting was put together with two stamps & two of the chalk ink colors.
    Flowers Wish cu06285
The upper corners & lower edge were punched & I added a turquoise layer underneath so the punch work would show up better. Some extra flowers (from the same punch) were added here & there along w/ some crystals & silky blue bow w/ a cut glass button on top.

Here’s a look at the inside using a narrow leftover frame along with a flower corner stamp.

And don’t forget the 50% off stamp of the month…Aprons! Here’s a card I made way back when using it, in case you need a little inspiration! (If you click the picture, it will take you to the details.)

Are you ready for summer & summer vacations? If this cute camper doesn’t get you in the mood I don’t know what will. I know they are usually a silver color, but it’s my camper & I wanted some bright colors. After coloring it with Copics, I fussy cut around the top because I already knew I wanted it to sit on top of a frame with the US map inside a window. Then I had to make a background for my map. I’ve done a different version of Bokeh before, but for this one, I started by sponging on the colors, then used circle masks, a pencil eraser & a Q-tip with white pigment ink to make the Bokeh circles. Here’s a look at the background before I stamped the map.
    Camper bg 06232
I also added a few darker spots w/ the eraser and the same ink pads just for a little contrast. Then I stamped the map & added the frame with the greeting stamped on the right. The die cut Enjoy was added in the left corner. These are the Copics I used for the camper.

    Supplies:

Stamps: Serendipity Stamps –Camper, US Map, Home is Where You Park It
Paper: Neenah white, X-Press It white, small piece of black (for backing on Enjoy die)
Ink:  Versafine onyx, Memento tuxedo black, Kaleidacolor melon melody & riviera pads, Colorbox frost white pigment
Accessories:  Serendipity Enjoy die, Spellbinders A2 matting basics A & B dies, stitched rectangle dies, black Candi dot

    Relax cu 06238
My next card was almost entirely paper piecing. I’ve had this big pad of fun summertime papers for a while & they are a little cartoonish but so colorful. I thought it would be fun with this fun new Hammock image.
    Relax 06239
I die cut the paper with a stitched rectangle die utilizing the cute sun & clouds already on the paper. A stitched hill die was used to cut the bottom part of the paper and add it on top (it’s a 12 x 12 pad). The hammock image was pieced using a couple of different areas & papers from the same collection. I did have to rearrange the greeting a bit in order to fit it around the hammock & I added the Relax die cut on top.Copics were used to color the tree, sky and stripes of the hammock & these are the colors I used.
    Relax copics 06231
On the inside, I used some of the left over papers.

For today’s Color Challenge on Splitcoast (CC528), we have soft colors..sky, pink & sand. I had some designer paper that had close to the same colors so I built my card around it. I’m not sure why the peony looks sort of orangey here..in real life, it’s a lot more pinky.
    Bday Peony green 06173
After I water colored the peony & background, I used the out of the box technique to die cut it. I added a white layer then put it back on top of the larger background I cut it from originally. Another white layer then it was added to the stitched layer along with the piece of dp.
    Bday Peony dk 06164
The Happy was die cut 3 times & stacked together for more dimension, then a few sequins added for a little sparkle. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
