First off, you’ll notice we have these fabulous new Stamp/Die Duo sets! You’re going to want to grab them because I know they’re going to sell like hot cakes. There’s a greeting for almost everything in these two sets & the coordinating die is fabulous!

    You Make Me Smile IMG0260
I’ve been combining die cut words w/ greetings for a while & these 2 sets make it so easy. On my first card, I used the You Bless Me So duo set. Don’t you love that smiley face? I thought it would be perfect as the center of a happy little flower. I die cut the white Lavish Layer & used a Pierced Circle to cut out the center. I used the same die on the patterned paper underneath, just for that something extra. After die cutting I large & 2 med Posies, I took the med white one & cut apart the petals to move them out just a tad from behind the polka dot layer.

I added the die cut You & greeting below along w/ a Bitty Butterfly & a couple more flowers in the corner. The You was stacked on top of a thick white layer to give it a little dimension.

Here’s a look at the inside.

My second card features the Sending My Love duo set. Did I mention the greetings are clear sets? Makes it sooooo easy to see where to stamp it. I wanted a fun, festive card and these dies are PERFECT. I made the center white panel to resemble a wrapped package, using the the Bitty Borders as added trim & the Mini Bow to top it off. I also added a small balloon (from the Happy Birthday dies) to go along w/ the larger Balloons & Streamers I used.

I added part of the banner across the upper left corner then added the stamped greeting w/ the Sending die cut above it. Did you also notice these fun, bright papers? These are so festive!

To make my very sparkly birthday card, I first die cut two layers out of white using two of the matting basics. Then the Party Balloons Reverse die was die cut in the smaller layer. On the larger layer, I used Distress inks to sponge on the different colors then attached the balloon layer on top. I also sponged one big balloon cut out and the Happy die and attached them. The Party Bg was stamped across a narrow strip using the Kaleidacolor ink & the Birthday was stamped on top.  I added stickles to the Happy & the one balloon on top and used a clear Wink of Stella on the other balloons. Since we’re combining the hop w/ the monthly Challenge of Stripes, my colors were put on in stripes (or wide bands) and the Party Bg on the strip is a stripe format.

  • Hey, Cupcake!

    Cupcake Party cu 05885
For the Clean & Simple Challenge (CAS322) today on Splitcoast, the challenge to make a card with a  cupcake on it.  I had this big grin piggie & a fun “Hey, Cupcake!” greeting. So as I’m putting my card together, I start thinking…I need a really little cupcake. What to do? I started looking at my punches, figuring I should be able to put something together.  The bottom of the cupcake is a little teacup punch. I cut off the handle & drew a few lines to make the cake part. The frosting part is a little cloud punch & I drew a few lines to look like frosting. I had a little candle punch, so that was handy. I think it’s just the right size!

The Wordy Birthday greeting was stamped 3 times on the background & I added a narrow strip of black to the upper & lower edges then added my cupcake bearing pig on top. I used a black glaze pen to add the 3 black dots in the lower right corner. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.
