Watercolor Rose

A big congrats to MaryJo, the newest Featured Stamper (FS710)! She has a wonderful gallery & always leaves the sweetest comments. I chose THIS card to case. I kept the watercoloring & floral centerpiece but I used a two part watercolor rose, heat embossed the bg & partially watercolored it.

On my card, I inked the solid part of the stamp w/ reds, yellows & greens, misted it then stamped it. After it dried, I stamped the outline part w/ black & die cut it & attached it to fun foam. The background was white embossed onto the backside of watercolor paper (it’s a little smoother). I started watercoloring it in the roses, got to a little past half way down, & decided I liked the rest of it unpainted. I used a white frame & a piece of vintage white vellum behind the rose to give it a little separation from the bg.

Congrats to Patsy, the newest Featured Stamper (FS639) on Splitcoast! She has a beautiful gallery & I chose THIS to case. I liked the blue & yellow color combo & floral theme, so I kept that, but I used different images, different dies & used emboss resist for my bg.

After I stamped & embossed the bg image in white, I sponged on the yellows from the top down & the blues from the bottom up. I wanted the color to show thru so I clear embossed the greeting onto vellum after stamping it w/ dk navy ink. I added a die cut circle frame on top of the vellum & added a layered die cut flower.

Serendipity Nov Blog Hop #1!

Welcome to the Nov #1 Blog Hop for Serendipity Stamps!
For my very wintry scene, I placed the image into my Misti, stamped & colored the bridge scene, then masked it & the ground area. Since the trees are basically solid lines, I didn’t worry about masking them. The right side of the sky was sponged w/ the pink Distress inks & blue on the left. Then I spritzed it w/ mixture of very thin white acrylic paint & water. I mixed it about 3 or 4 to 1, (water to paint) in a mini mister. I’ve had this mix in this mister for at least a couple of years & so far it hasn’t clogged. I just shake it well before using each time. After removing the mask, I used a white gel pen to add snow to the trees & rocks then stamped over the image again. The vellum overlay was embossed w/ a snowflake frame folder & I fussy cut out the center before sandwiching it between the cut out card front & a stitched frame, then I attached the bridge scene underneath. I also added a few snowflakes I punched out of white glitter paper. This is also for the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS614) & I chose THIS to case.
