Believe it or not, but this IS the sketch from today’s challenge on Splitcoast (SC375)! It just got a little covered up. My circle had to be bigger and then I added the fussy cut dogwoods and poof! The horizontal and vertical bands mostly disappeared.

The images are all from DRS Designs and the Hope quote and dogwoods are a sneak peek of new images to be released on Sat. 3/10/12. I’m really loving these dogwoods! Here I stamped them in lightning black and very quickly added just a hint of shading w/ two markers then cut them out. I know, I know…most people don’t care for the fussy cutting, but I like it, lol. And I’ve gotten really quick with it. It took me about 7 or 8 min. to cut out the 3 bunches of dogwoods.

For the quote circle, I stamped the stained glass image w/ the lightning black then stamped the quote over it w/ black before die cutting it. The little left over crescent moon shape is what was left and I kinda liked it so I added some sponged on gold leafing and put it back.

The strips were stamped w/ the stained glass image and the gold ink and a solid strip added on top. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wonderful color combo challenge today on Splitcoast (CC365)! My card is almost entirely the blushing bride shade of pink w/ just a hint of the wasabi green (plus a little gold for the cross).

All images are DRS Designs. I stamped the lily cross image and added a little color. I did this really quickly since I knew I wanted a vellum overlay and some of the detail would be lost anyway. The stained glass oval was stamped on vellum w/ the gray ink and I sprinkled on the ep immediately (since it’s dye ink) and heat embossed it. I sponged on a little of the pink ink onto the back side of the vellum and added just a little darker pink w/ a marker. I embossed the greeting on the marbled pink c/s using the same ep and the black ink. The window was die cut out of the pink. Then I used an embossing folder so it wouldn’t look too plain. The vellum, then the image were attached underneath and then onto a 5.50 x 4.25 card.
