  • Marigold Tag

Posted on April 10, 2021 9:04 PM by Julie Comment

A big congrats to Mary Ellen, the newest Featured Stamper (FS740) on Splitcoast! She has wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the tag element & flowers, but used different images, dies, colors & changed the layout.

After coloring & die cutting the marigolds w/ a tag die, I added a scallop edge layer & some seam ribbon I dyed & wrinkled. I used a slimline lattice but shortened it to fit my A2 card & added a lime green panel behind it. I only used the first part of the greeting, replacing the rest w/ shadow layered word die.

Here are the Copics I used:

A big congrats to Jen, the newest Featured Stamper (FS731) at Splitcoast! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I liked the 3 little tags w/ images on them, so I kept that. But I used different images, dies & colors, & turned the layout to vertical.

Don’t forget to check out the Rubbernecker Stamps Birthday Giveaway! (Click the pic below to take you there!)

For my card, I came across this leftover bg piece that I had made ages ago. I love how bright & festive it is & thought it would be perfect w/ these 3 candles. The bg was done by inking the inside of the birthday embossing folder w/ a rainbow ink pad, then embossing it. I colored the candles to go w/ this bg, die cut them then added them to the 3 die cut tags. I wanted a little more separation between them & the bg so I die cut a wide-ish frame to go around the bg. It also helps to disguise the fact that this bg doesn’t run the entire length of the card front.

There were a few areas that the color on the bg had run into the white letters but a little touch up w/ a white Posca pen helped disguise it.

Here’s the inside. Just a little trimmed off piece at the bottom & I used the same rainbow ink to stamp the greeting.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Pink Daisies Tag

Posted on February 14, 2020 10:51 PM by Julie 1 Comment

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC741) we’re going to Shop The Manor. After window shopping for quite a while, I came across THIS lovely pillow.  I remembered I had an alcohol ink bg in my stash w/ similar colors so I went w/ the pillow for my inspiration. The bg was done w/ alcohol inks on Yupo paper. After dropping the colors, I spritzed it & also dropped some rubbing alcohol onto it to move the color around a little.

After coloring the daisies, I stamped the greeting then cut it w/ a lg tag die (using my out of the box technique on the left side). The tag die has a separate circle or square hole so you’re able to put it anywhere. I used it to not only cut the hole for the tag, but also cut all the little circles down the side. To make them stand out more, I die cut a bunch of these holes in white then used a 3/8″ circle punch to cut out the stitched hole left behind. These rings were attached on top of the circle cut outs in the colorful bg. A few of the punched out circles were added to the tag. Since the bg wasn’t a full card front size, I attached some stitched strips of white to frame it in & give it a more finished look.

Here are the Copics I used on the daisies.
