Glitter Cameo

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC760), we’re visiting a Pinterest Boards called Happy Walls. I was really struck by THIS mural & used it for the inspiration for my card.

For my card, I stamped the image & left her mostly black & white. I added just a little color to her eyes & lips w/ an E53 Copic & also added some gold Wink of Stella on top of her lips. I used a lt cool grey Prismacolor pencil to add just a touch of contour to her face. The branches were all die cut out of silver glitter paper & I used the same Copic marker to make some of the leaves a champagne color. She’s popped up a bit on top of the ovals & then attached on top of a die cut floral frame.

Serendipity SSCB#45 – Monochrome!

Welcome to the July Challenge for Serendipity Stamps! This month the challenge is Monochrome..pick one color & use it. You can get all the details over on the Serendipity Challenge Blog. For my card, the color I chose is a blue/gray. I wanted to use this wonderful rowboat & dock image & was looking thru some backgrounds I’ve made at various times when I came across a stack of Christmas card fronts I had saved. This little river w/ the snowy banks just seemed perfect for my boat. After I stamped it & colored w/ Copics I used the same into the window technique I posted last week HERE. Then I die cut the outer frame and stamped part of the greeting in the lower right. The top loop of the F went into the picture so I took a white gel pen and went over that loop to make it stand out.

The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used:

Serendipity SSCB #30 -Shades of Grey

Welcome to the first April Challenge for Serendipity Stamps! This month the challenge is Shades of Grey! For the design team, we have the added challenge of using something that describes part of our personality. So…with that in mind, I was immediately drawn to this fabulous sundial image. Now the shades of grey is not really descriptive of me, as I LOVE color. So that what the challenge part for me. But the sundial really spoke to me. Why? Well, not many people know this, but I was born during a total solar eclipse. Weird, right? Growing up, one of my best friends was born on the same day, but a little earlier in the day. And I’ve always been drawn to astronomy, the stars and the heavens. So an image of something that tells time by the light of the sun really speaks to me. What would it look like during an eclipse? Maybe these shades of grey.

After I stamped my image, I used the toner greys to color the leaves, the cool greys to add the shadows and the warm greys to shade the wooden post. I stamped an extra top to the sundial and the leaves in the lower right corner, colored them and fussy cut them and added them on top of the base image. The base image was die cut along with the black layer underneath. I used some warm grey, black & textured white pieces I had that were leftovers to fill in the card. I came across some swirly silver metal clips from who knows how long ago, and I used a dark warm grey Copic marker to add a little “age” to them.

The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.
