  • NCC March Look Back!

Posted on April 5, 2014 7:58 AM by Julie 5 Comments

    NCC Easter Egg Hunt 03268
Today we are revisiting the North Coast Creations March release! Such cute Easter & Spring images! For my card, I’m using the Easter Basket set along with a super cute image from last year, Gardening Rini. After stamping and coloring the Easter basket, I die cut two oval frames to fit around it. On a large strip, I stamped just the bunny head 3 times, colored them, then cut around the ears. I used the ODBD Elegant ovals to die cut the greeting then embossed the same die on black and fussy cut it for my mat.

The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used. I know it’s a lot, but look at those different colors of Easter eggs, lol.

For my first card, I used this sweet Happy Spring set. Aren’t these little ducklings adorable? You can almost feel how soft and fuzzy they are! After stamping & coloring, I used my out of the box technique and die cut with a square. I left the die in place and sponged a little yellow ink inside the corners. The leaf sprigs were die cut using an ODBD Fancy Foliage die and I used the tag die from the ODBD Recipe & tag dies for the greeting. The background was stamped with just the orange & yellow colors of a rainbow pad using the ODBD Vintage Mini 1 image and a left over corner of the ODBD Daisy Chain die was added on the right. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

    Supplies:

Stamps: North Coast Creations – Happy Spring,  ODBD Vintage Pattern Mini Bg 1
    Paper: X-Press It, lt orange
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Versfine onyx (greeting), Kaliedacolor Melon melody
Accessories:  Copic markers,  ODBD Fancy Foliage dies, ODBD Daisy Chain Bg die, ODBD Recipe & Tag die, Spellbinders square die, Perfect Paper Crafting mini rulers

On my second card, I used the wonderful Easter Basket set. Isn’t it pretty? After coloring, I die cut a rectangle frame out of white textured card stock and added the greeting on the frame. I didn’t have any paper to go with it, so I made a background using a spritzer & several Easter colors of Copic markers. After spritzing, I used a small paintbrush dipped in Copic blender solution to splatter it creating the Easter egg colored background you see here.

  • Framed Crocus

Posted on February 16, 2013 5:48 PM by Julie 3 Comments

I made this for a couple of challenges on Splitcoast today…the Inspiration Challenge (IC376), and the Love Fest (LOVEFEST2013C). For the IC challenge, I was inspired by this Round Floral Box. I really liked the red/orange background surrounding the flowers so I stamped my crocus, masking as I went, and colored in the area surrounding them w/ Copics. They looked a little too plain to me so I added just a touch of green shading to the flowers. A few crystals were added for the bling part of the Love Fest challenge.

The images are from Our Daily Bread designs. I added a few die cut layers using the Marvelous Squares set from Spellbinders, but I had to resize them to make them rectangular. The little green doodads are part of a Cheery Lynn crochet border die. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
