Such lovely ribbons on the Inspiration Site, Renaissance Ribbons! I was inspired by THIS ribbon.
I’ve been on a Prismacolor Pencil streak lately & since the Misti came out, I’ve been rediscovering how lovely the pencils are to use. For quite a while, I avoided them because the fine details sometimes were lost when using pencils. Now I can just stamp again after I’ve finished coloring, to bring them back. I really love how they look on different colors of card. This is a dark charcoal grey looks on the blue side here, but IRL, it looks much more grey to me. After coloring the flowers, I die cut using my out of the box technique.
The horizontal band was stamped w/ a distressed circles bg using the Distress oxide ink. At first, I thought the spun sugar would be the color to match, but after trying it & several others, I discovered the Victorian velvet was perfect on this color c/s. That’s one of the reasons I always try to save a few scraps of c/s colors..so I can do test runs of colors on them. If I don’t have a scrap, then I’ll use the back side of the piece I’m going to use. Hey..no one will ever see the other side 😉 On the greeting circle, I used the Misti again, to stamp it first w/ the oxide ink then shifted it slightly, & stamped it again in black. It’s subtle, but gives it a nice shadow.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a Happy New Year!
