The Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC707) is a fabric site full of colors & patterns. I was inspired by THIS fabric for the bright colors. From the thumbnail, it looked floral to me so that’s the direction I went.
Instead of embossing resist, I did the reverse on my background. I sponged on the Distress inks, dried it w/ a heat gun then used my embossing buddy over to make sure it was really dry. (It probably would have been easier to emboss, then sponge, but sometimes it’s hard to get all of ink off of the embossing & I wanted it to be really crisp & white.) Then the azaleas were white embossed on top. The white front was die cut twice w/ a stitched curve die to make the split thru the center. After adding the greeting, I die cut some tiny flowers out of leftover background pieces & attached them.
Here’s a look at the inside. The azalea image is a 2 part stamp & while I only used the outline on the front, I used both here on the inside. There’s also a matching die for it, if you’re interested.Â
Thanks so much for stopping by!
