I made these for the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club June Christmas Challenge! I’ve been having so much fun being a part of the challenge this year & the bonus is I’ll have a bunch of Christmas cards finished in plenty of time for Christmas this year. You’ll need to be Fan Club member but that’s easy…just click the blue link to find out how.
This was a lot of fun to make. It took a little engineering w/ the light string image but I think it accurately represents what has surely happened to us all at one time or another. And if I could have gotten away w/ it, I would have totally left them like this & called it a day. This tangled mess of lights is one reason my tree is now one of those that comes w/ lights already on it, lol. I used a stamp a ma jig to position the light string into the chaotic mess it is then colored it & added the plug on the side. I stamped just a few pine branches & 1 ornament to give the impression of the unlit tree off to the side. The greeting was made up of little die cut letters. A while back, I saw one of those hand drawn joke cards w/ this idea & thought I could create something similar.Â
Supplies:
Stamps: DRS Designs – Christmas Light String, Pine Bough, Ornaments Galore |
Paper:Â Staples 110# white, pine green |
Ink: Memento tuxedo black |
Accessories: Copic markers, Lil’ Inker Stitched Rectangles dies, Sizzix celebration words dies, Copic mulitliner pen |
And just because I bought this set on clearance over a year ago & have never used it…I made a second card. Very easy since the stamps & matching dies pretty much do all the work. Stamped the whole image on the sand card stock, then again several more times on white, colored them, die cut them & popped the layers up on the original.Â
Supplies:
Stamps: Sizzix Tree Blueprint (stamp/die combo) |
Paper:Â Staples 110# white, sand |
Ink: Memento tuxedo black |
Accessories: Copic markers, MFT diagonal stitched rectangle dies |
Thanks so much for stopping by!
You did an outstanding job with your stamp a ma jig to tangle the lights. Believe it or not I’ve never tangled up my lights — ever. The reason for my prelit white tree is that I got tired of taking two hours to string my tree. Anyways, this is one cute card.
Love the top card with the tangled lights and the “nailed it” greeting. That is brilliant. Still giggling
