ODBD February Review!

Mason Jar Wildflowers cu05667
Today we are taking another look at the wonderful Our Daily Bread designs February Release! The wildflowers are perfect for so many different cards. For my card today, I went with a shaker card. I love the way they look, but they always end up being more trouble than they’re worth, lol. Or maybe that’s just me.

I wanted to keep it semi flat, so I used sequins instead of buttons or something thicker. To begin, I die cut the canning jar in my top layer. Now here, I’ll tell you, the die has two aligning dots so I did a tiny bit of surgery & removed the lower one to keep from cutting a hole below it. I stopped the die cutting machine before I reached the top “dot” & just for insurance, I added a small piece of thick cardstock under it so it wouldn’t cut a hole on top. I stamped the top part of the wildflowers (from Life is a Gift) and colored them. On the bottom white layer, I stamped the canning jar & added some stems so it would appear they continue inside the jar.

I added a piece of acetate under the top layer and two layers of card board, then the bottom layer. Before I glued the bottom layer on, I added the sequins. The twine was glued on top along with the greeting on a die cut tag.I used the largest die from Flourished Star Pattern dies to cut the largest white layer because I love the way it pierces all around the edge.

Since I didn’t use any dp, I did some two color stamping on the inside around the edges. I used the lavender ink with the silhouette wildflowers & the grape with the wildflowers from the Life is a Gift set.

These are the Copics I used. I don’t know why I had the 3 gray colors in here…I didn’t use them, lol.
