Welcome to part two of the September Challenge for Serendipity Stamps! This month the challenge is is Summer’s Last Hurrah! You can get all the details over on the Serendipity Challenge Blog. The theme for the Sept Challenge is “Summer’s Last Hurrah”. The DT has the added challenge of using one of our own photos as inspiration. And as always, we have a  have a gift certificate up for grabs to a random player. The sale this week is Free Shipping on all US orders over $15. Good thru 9/24.
For my train station card, I was inspired by a summer vacation we took one year to Hilton Head, SC. While there, we visited a number of other towns and in one we stopped to have lunch, there was an old, but well preserved train station depot. I loved the old 1900 era look of it. If I could find that picture, I’d show you, but you’ll just have trust me on this. So I stamped & colored the train image then put a window on top w/ the fussy cut suitcases in front. I wanted it to look like someone waiting in the station for the train to come in. After die cutting the window, I used an embossing folder on the lower 2/3 of it to resemble bead board paneling. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the (truly ridiculous number of) Copics I used.
IÂ kept the inside simple.. an embossed strip and another fussy cut suitcases image.
Please be sure to stop by all of the DT Blogs for more inspiration & comment to be entered in the drawing! And this month we have a special Guest…

Another masterpiece Julie! You have a way of combining stamps like nobody else. Beautiful coloring job too!
Miriam said it! This is fantastic, Julie!
I loved this one at first site! Beautiful coloring and I love that I’m peeking through a window! Great reading about your travels. HHI is one of my favorite places in the whole world! Wonderful!!
Julie you captured this scene perfectly! I take the train between KC and St. Louis quite often. The station in STL is a small well preserved station manned by volunteers. You can look out the old paned wooden sashed window and watch for the train to arrive – just like your card!
Julie this card is so stunning! I agree with what all the others said… Its a masterpiece!
Julie, your idea of the train scene out the window is fabulous and you’ve executed it with all the skill and talent I’ve come to admire in your creations! Fab colouring and fab use of white space too. I’ve loved designing with you all this month, the Serendipity girls are amazing!
Eeeks…another gorgeous card!! Love the window and valance at the top!!
