It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS689) & a big Congrats to Karen as the newest Featured Stamper! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I loved the happy orange color & cute gingham, so I kept those, but I used different dies, different greeting & made my own gingham (instead of using dp).
For the gingham, I put the horizontal stripe bg stamp into my Misti, stamped it one direction, using first the apricot ink then stamped it again w/ the scarlet ink. Rotated the panel, & repeated this to get the orange gingham. I made enough for the side panel & also for the die cut flower. I added a scallop circle of black under the flower, an orange gem for the center & another orange glitter gem (it was clear but I used an orange Copic on it) in the right corner.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC750), we’re headed to a Pinterest Tags board. My goodness, there are a LOT of tags…I tried, but I couldn’t even get to the end of that board. So many beautiful choices. I was drawn to THIS tag & THIS tag.
Well…I started out to make my card like the first tag. I even used the same embossing folder on acetate. But I just couldn’t get it to look right. So after stamping the layered rose & leaves, I fussy cut them & thought I’d make a stripe background like the second tag. The horizontal strip bg was stamped w/ a lt green ink & the circle was die cut out of it & rotated because, to me, it would look better w/ the stripes going the same direction as the text.

A big Congrats to Karen, the newest Featured Stamper (FS688) on Splitcoast! She has a fun, colorful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I liked the brilliant blue color & fish theme, so I kept those. But I used different images & dies & changed the layout.
This fun greeting cracks me up & the first thing I said when I read it was “we need a shark image” (or a bigger boat, lol). So the folks at Rubbernecker showed me this shark & I loved it. I colored the areas that needed it then used my out of the box technique to have him coming out of the circle. I put the layered circle w/ the shark onto a larger cobalt blue bg & die cut the different waves at the bottom to add on top.
