A big congrats to Francie, the newest Featured Stamper! My goodness, what a COLORFUL gallery she has! It was so hard to pick, but the colors on THIS card really spoke to me. I kept the fabulous purple colors & flowers, but I used different images, a little bit different layout and made mine a birthday card.
I had a small melted crayon background with these wonderful pinky/purple colors and it reminded me of Francie’s beautiful purple hydrangea card, so I die cut a frame to go around it & attached it behind the opening. For the flowers, I sponged the colors from the Kpad, die cut them then decided they needed a white border so I trimmed them a little closer & die cut another solid white version & attached the trimmed version on top. I used a white Prismacolor pencil to add just a touch of white in areas on the flowers.
A die cut Happy was attached on top of the melted crayon bg, the flowers & leaves attached & some sequins for a little sparkle.
Congrats again, Francie! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Since I didn’t have a chance to do the Color Challenge (CC527) on Splitcoast yesterday, I’m combining it with the Sketch Challenge (SC537) today. When I started out, I wasn’t sure I would be able to work these colors but I found one piece of a sand card stock which is a dead ringer for the sahara sand. Other than white, that’s the only card stock I used. I white heat embossed the flowers & greeting on the sand card stock. On the flowers, I used Prismacolor pencils to add the other 2 colors…wasabi & pink. For the sketch, I turned the square to better fit & the die cut border serves as my long horizontal panel.
After I die cut the sand card stock, I colored a narrow strip w/ a pink pencil & attached it behind the cut out to act as the ribbon element on the sketch. The flowers were fussy cut & attached on my square/diamond shape. I also used the pink pencil around the border of the sand layer & added a fussy cut butterfly.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges #89 ~ Use A Die Cut
A big congrats to Mary, the newest Featured Stamper (FS428)! She has such a super gallery & I noticed she uses this big circle front & center layout quite a bit, but I was really inspired by THIS card. I kept the layout and bow but used different images, slightly different colors & added some fussy cut lilies & left off the lace trim.
For my card, I stamped, colored & fussy cut two of the big calla lily images & one of the small lilies from the candle image. I already had the white die cut circle, so I stamped the rest of the candle image & the greeting on top. The backing circle was die cut then I stamped the stained glass image on top, colored it in, added a larger black circle behind it & a white lacy edge circle behind that.
The bow was also die cut, a little color added and attached on top of the lilies. Some white sequins were attached for just a little sparkle. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.
Congrats again, Mary! Thanks so much for looking!
