Well, it turns out my first post today was for a CAS Challenge last week, lol. I got lost in the Challenge list and picked the wrong one. This is for the challenge that’s actually today…(CAS244) Tearing or Distressing. While it may not look totally clean & simple, it actually is CAS. For my pink/green bg, I quickly (very quickly) pounced/sponged 4 colors of ink then stamped the image w/ Versafine on top. It’s die cut w/ a long rectangle and I added a bit of a white marker and stickles to the snowy parts of the pinecones. The black grid looking bg is a long ago leftover from a TLC challenge (TLC235) painted grid. This is also for one of the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges…HYCCT1326, Mixed Media.

I tore the side of the long strip using a tearing ruler (makes it so easy). I attached it to a left over strip then attached the narrow little strip I tore off. I added the greeting on the card front and a few sequins cause you can never have too much bling! The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A big Congrats to Darlene, the newest Featured Stamper! She has a wonderful gallery and there are several I’d like to case, but for my card I chose This card to case. I kept the multi pink colors and butterfly theme, but I used different images, used a die cut butterfly instead of stamped, and changed the layout a bit.

I’m also combining this with the HYCCT1305, Pink Camo challenge and to make my “camo” in various shades of pink, I tried Lydia’s Bokeh Background tutorial because it looked like so much fun. I used the pencil eraser and the 2 pink inks to create the Bokeh bg directly on my card front. On the smaller top layer, I die cut the sunburst circle and stamped the greeting and ribbon in the lower left. I used the lightest pink ink to stamp a splatter pattern on the corners of the top layer. After die cutting the butterfly and the solid wing backing, I used Copics to color the intricate butterfly a pale pink then used the same splatter image to add some more color to the center.A pink rhinestone and some pink sequins finished my 4.25 x 5.50 card.

Congrats again, Darlene, enjoy your week! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Today’s Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast (IC409) is Barnes & Noble. Do they ever have a lot of pretty things. Who knew? I was inspired by this Decanter. Love all the falling leaves on it.

The images I used are from  DRS Designs. Except for the card itself, it was made entirely of left over pieces and scraps.  I used a fine pattern woodgrain embossing folder on the rusty brown piece and on the long narrow white strip, I inked up the silhouette leaf with a few colors of ink then stamped them twice each time, without reinking. On the lighter versions, I stamped the open leaf on top with the clay ink. I also stamped a couple of extra leaves (open leaf stamped over the silhouette) and a fall leaf w/ acorn on another scrap then added a bit more color w/ Copics.

I used the clay ink and splatter bg on top of the leaf strip for a little more interest. The greeting was stamped below directly on the 5.50 x 4.25 card front.
