The idea for my card came from a painting I saw somewhere. I don’t know who painted it or if they used oil, acrylic or water color, but I loved all the vibrant color & that stuck with me. My background is done w/ Brushos water color crystals on water color paper. I did a few washes but since the water colors are powder/crystal form, I wet the areas first, sprinkled a little of the color I wanted (the first was the turquoise), then worked them a bit w/ the paint brush. In most cases, I let the previous color dry before I moved to the next color. Toward the end, I added some almost dry brush strokes in some areas & I helped the yellow drip on down the page. Since it really made no sense to have a detailed image, I put the tandem bicycle in my Misti, stamped it few times (to get good coverage, since the paper has texture) w/ Versafine then used a black Tombow marker (water based) to fill it in and make a silhouette out of it. A white gelly roll pen was used to add the highlights on the bike. It was then die cut a couple of times w/ a white layer inserted in between & the greeting added on top.
Here’s the inside…I kept it pretty simple.

For the Serendipity Monthly Challenge…Anything Goes, I made a birthday card with the cute little Bird Bath image.
I already had the front piece w/ the stitched circle cut out so I stamped the little bird bath on a separate piece, colored it, masked it, then sponged the yellow from the top & blue from the bottom. After removing the mask, I over stamped it w/ Versafine (it was still in my Misti) then placed the frame around it.
For the extra little birds, I had to do a mirror image by stamping it onto acrylic then stamping the acrylic to the paper. After I colored them, I went over the left facing one w/ a Micron pen to sharpen the lines then I fussy cut them both. I added the die cut & sponged Birthday and left the lower section of it in place. 2 of the clouds I added are from the Hot Air Balloon die & the large one is another die cut.
Here are the Copics I used & below it is the inside. Again, it’s on the simple side, but when you don’t use designer paper, you don’t have any left to work with, lol.
