Congrats to Peggy, the newest Featured Stamper on Splitcoast! What a fabulous gallery full of die cut wonders! After much browsing, I chose THIS card of Peggy’s to case. I kept the layout, flowers, and multiple die cuts, but I used different die cuts, a little deeper color and a different greeting. NCC Birthday Poppies 03726

So in trying to keep my CASE in true Peggy fashion, I used a whole bunch of die cuts and only 1 little greeting stamp. I used the Anja corner on all 4 corners of the white panel before attaching it to a wedgewood blue panel. The fancy frame was die cut and I backed it with a larger blue oval before attaching all my little die cut flowers and grass. The greeting was die cut using the insert of a Spellbinders tag die and I added a mini flourish around it.

Healing Thoughts

Congrats to Viv (Daizy-Mae), the newest Featured Stamper (FS380) on Splitcoast! She has such a wonderful, CAS (clean & simple) style. Makes me wish CAS came easy to me…but it doesn’t. But I did my best to trim this down. I was totally inspired by THIS card. I love the splashes of color, the dandelions and the sequins, so I kept those. I used a different greeting, my dandelions are die cuts since I don’t have an image like hers and I used an embossing folder to make my background. I also flipped it because my bigger white space was on the opposite side.

Don’t know if you’ve heard, but one of my DT mates and recent Dirty Dozen Alumni, Chris (aka Glowbug) broke her ankle last week & she’s had a few complications. So I made this to send to her. I’m hoping this proverb will send her healing thoughts.

I’ve really been enjoying all the embossing folder stamping I’ve been seeing, so I thought I’d try it. Instead of inking and misting, I tried using some sprays. Thought I’d skip a step and go straight for the spray stuff, lol. It worked wonderfully, IMHO. The sprays I used are very shimmery, but I just can’t capture it w/ the camera. I spritzed the more solid half of the ef, not to cover, just here & there, then pressed my white card stock inside & rubbed. The sentiment was stamped, die cut dandelions & sequins added & done!

To Have & To Hold

Time for another Color Challenge on Splitcoast (CC461) and week 2 for me as a Guest Designer for the Color Challenge! What lovely colors we have this week…Tempting Turquoise, Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe with a dessert of a frame (either stamped, cut out or drawn). So on my card I used a huge amount of a cantaloupe clone and tiny amounts of the turquoise & cabana. Instead of white, I used ivory for my neutral and for dessert, I included a die cut window frame.

I stamped the greeting, die cut and with the die in place, lightly sponged on the pink & salmon inks ( I don’t have the exact colors so I used a combo to achieve the color). The lily corners were stamped several times, colored w/ Copics and fussy cut along w/ 1 small butterfly. The cantaloupe background piece was spritzed w/ bleach to get the splotchy look.

After die cutting the window frame out of ivory, I added a piece of vellum behind it before attaching all the pieces. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.
