Thinking of You

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC860), we are visiting a site called Lady Yard where I found THESE elegant pillows.

My card was made using a couple of new foiling dies. The original is a wave pattern w/ the dots & the other is a solid foiling plate. I used the original one on another card but had all this foil w/ the reverse pattern left, so I used it w/ the solid plate on another piece of white card stock. The roses are a paper/die duo, which makes is super easy to put together, & I die cut a few extra blank shapes to pop theses flowers up. The greeting is a stamp/die duo & I heat embossed using Brilliance lightning black ink & clear powder. The narrow gold layer was made using the solid foiling plate & some leftover strips of the gold foil.

Floating Peony

It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS793) this week & a big congrats to Wendy! There were many I wanted to case but I really liked THIS card so I chose it. I kept the floating strip panel & tall flowers but used different images & dies, different colors & embossed my bg w/ a die instead of an embossing folder.

For my card, I used a pair of multi layered peony images &stamped the layers w/ the gradient shades of inks then die cut them w/ their matching dies. On the floating strip square, I first die cut a square of white then same size squares out of several shades of pink paint chips. I took the squares & cut different width strips of the colors & attached a couple of layers of cardboard behind them before attaching them to the white square. The lg white bg was embossed only using the Organic Cover die.
The flowers were popped up a bit & some gems added to finish.

A big congrats to Gayle, the newest Featured Stamper (FS792) on Splitcoast! She has a sweet little gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the layout & most of the colors, but used different images, dies, added some layers & did a little dry embossing.

For my ginger yoga cat, I stamped & colored it w/ Copics, then stamped the Calm part of the greeting right under it. A narrow dk brown layer along w/ the rust colored loopy edge layer were added behind. The white layer was embossed w/ a folder & since I didn’t have a large enough dk brown layer to add under it, I colored just the edge of another white layer w/ a dk brown Copic. The rest of the greeting was stamped on a narrow strip & attached on the embossed layer. A piece of designer paper was the final layer.
