It’s no secret that I love scenic images & I LOVE to color so this month’s release is definitely in my wheelhouse (pardon the pun). For my first card I used Copics to color the Living Water image, then I over stamped w/ Versafine because I love how it brings out the details. Â The water at the bottom of the image was extended a bit by turning the image around & stamping just the water part again (upside down). I had some rusty barn red card stock that I had spritzed with bleach & it looked really good w/ the colors in the image so I used it for the framing. To make the white frames, I die cut using the fabulous new Double Stitched Rectangles, Rectangles & the largest Double Stitched Circle for the opening around the image. I trimmed off the edges a bit on the smaller rectangle using one of the matting basics because I wanted a bit of the red to show though then I attached the larger frame on top along w/ the greeting circles & a few Candi dots.
Here’s a look at the inside using the leftover circles…a little simple, but I liked the asymmetrical look of it  & below it are the Copics I used.
Supplies:
Stamps: ODBD – Living Water |
Paper:Â X-Press It white, Neenah white, barn red (spritzed w/ bleach) |
Ink:Â Â Memento tuxedo black, Versafine onyx (to over stamp after coloring) |
Accessories:Â ODBD Double Stitched Rectangles, Rectangles, Double Stitched Circles dies, Copic markers, Spellbinders A2 matting basics A & B, circle dies, Â Misti, bleach in mister bottle, Candi dots |
For my second card, I used the beautifully scenic Safe Travels. I made a background on water color paper using regular pan water colors & a little Brushos water color crystals. I added the colors, approximating where the image would be, dried it w/ a heat gun then stamped the scene in Versafine.
A few more detail colors were added after it was stamped then I used the Rectangles & Double Stitched Rectangles to die cut the main image. I had to do a little out of the box to keep from trimming off the tree tops. On the rest of water color background, I stamped the trees & tree tops again to make it look as if there is a forest on the layer behind the bridge. A stitched rectangle frame was added on top & then the rest of the water color background added behind the image.
This is the inside using some of the leftover water color bg & one bridge I fussy cut. Originally, I was going to put this greeting on the outside but since it’s a little bigger & covered up much more of the bridge, I put it on the inside.
