Congrats to Connie, the newest Featured Stamper (FS587) on Splitcoast! She has such a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS to case. I liked the layout & shape of her main panel but I used different images, different colors & made mine a Thank You card. I also used the colors from Tuesday’s Color Challenge (CC685).

To make my card, I die cut the vellum centerpiece then stamped the greeting w/ black Stazon. The flower scroll was stamped using Brilliance moonlight white & a little pink added to back side w/ a Prismacolor pencil. I used a white pencil on the back side to add the highlights to the greeting. It’s attached to a dot embossed bg that I used a white marker to highlight the dots & edge it. The pink bg was embossed w/ a corner folder after die cutting.

Here’s a look at the inside.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC647), we have Replacements, LTD. as our site. It’s a beautiful site & I have used their wonderful replacement service in the past to fill in missing or broken pieces of china. They also helped me identify some crystal that belonged to my great grandmother. While I was browsing the casual china, I happened on THIS picture (also below). It looked like a Cinco de Mayo fiesta to me so I went w/ a southwest theme.

To make the serape on the side, I used two plaid images, which until you stamp them across each other, are just stripes. I inked the stripes using Tombow markers in red, yellow & green then colored a wide strip & used fringe scissors on it to make the lower border. The image was stamped, colored & die cut w/ a little out of the box to keep the boot tip & rope from being cut off. I used Prismacolor pencils to add the sunset colors behind the image. For the greeting, I stamped it once in the Morocco ink, moved it a tad & stamped it again in brown ink to get the slight shadow.

Here’s a look at the inside & below are the Copics & Tombows I used.

The Clean & Simple Challenge on Splitcoast (CAS477), was to use Poppies in honor of Anzac Remembrance Day. It’s a day in Australia & New Zealand similar to our Memorial or Armistice Days.

I love poppies & my card is made up of a lot of leftovers so it went pretty fast. The poppies were die cut out of leftover watercolor bg, the Smile & brick bg were die cut out of leftover strips. I think the only new piece was the white linen bg. I used a semi-circle die (Blueprints 21) to cut out the frame around the poppy & added a few stamped & die cut sequin images.

Here’s a look at the inside.
