Today we are taking another look at the Our Daily Bread designs June Release! Such fabulous dies & stamp/die duo sets! Did you order yours yet?
For my project, I created a fun surprise box. The Surprise Box die makes it so easy to do & it’s a blast figuring out which dies to use when decorating it. I went with a birthday stars & presents theme. And I may have gone a little over the top w/ the layers. My box is actually very sturdy as I used a very heavy white c/s for the inside & cut another white layer for the outside (I wanted the inside to be as pretty as the outside w/ the embossing) then added all the die cut paper rectangles, stars & presents around the outside.
This is a better picture of the outside & underside of the flaps. The only problem w/ this box, is how to photograph it. So I took a bunch of pics.
The balloons, stars & Wish are so sparkly in person! There’s even a little cupcake tucked under the Wish. I will tell you, to make the Pierced Rectangles & plain Rectangle layers on the outside, I did have to do a little resizing to make them smaller. But that’s pretty easy..just be sure to match up the pierced holes when cutting the other end.
I also added another long liner to the outside of the back to use as sort of the inside of a card, where I could write a little message. And this all folds flat-ish to fit in a standard A2 or A6 envelope.

My card today is a combo of the Clean & Simple (CAS361), Color (CC567), and Sketch (SC577) Challenges. The CAS is to make a sweet treat, the colors are mint, strawberry & espresso & my version of the sketch is a little morphed. Instead of the straight band mine is a curved banner & I had to move the greeting underneath.
So I stamped, colored & cut out the cupcake (my panel 3) & added some stickles to the icing. The white bg (my panel 2) was dry embossed & I had a big heart punch that fit inside the heart centerpiece almost exactly (my panel 5), so I sponged on green ink & put it behind the cupcake. The banner (my panel 4) was die cut & stamped using the pistachio & worn lipstick inks & I did remove a couple of the flags to make it shorter. The larger layer (my panel 1)is actually just a frame that was sitting there, so I embossed it w/ frame folder & sponged the green ink over the top of it.
These are the Copics I used to color the cupcake
.

For the Clean & Simple Challenge (CAS322) today on Splitcoast, the challenge to make a card with a cupcake on it. I had this big grin piggie & a fun “Hey, Cupcake!” greeting. So as I’m putting my card together, I start thinking…I need a really little cupcake. What to do? I started looking at my punches, figuring I should be able to put something together. The bottom of the cupcake is a little teacup punch. I cut off the handle & drew a few lines to make the cake part. The frosting part is a little cloud punch & I drew a few lines to look like frosting. I had a little candle punch, so that was handy. I think it’s just the right size!
The Wordy Birthday greeting was stamped 3 times on the background & I added a narrow strip of black to the upper & lower edges then added my cupcake bearing pig on top. I used a black glaze pen to add the 3 black dots in the lower right corner. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.
Thanks so much for stopping by! There’s still time to enter the DRS Thursday Challenge..Bloomin’ Beautiful..just have some kind of flower on your card. DRS images are not required so head on over & link up!
