It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS785) this week so a big congrats to Lynn! After much browsing, I chose THIS card to case. I kept the layout & black/white color combo, but I used different images & dies, added an embossed strip instead of the herringbone & added a touch of red.

My CAS card started w/ stamping the white cat, masking her & stamping the gray cat. I did a little out of the box to avoid cutting of the kitties’ tails when die cutting them. I added a narrow silver glitter border then a larger red one. The black strip was embossed w/ a tiny heart folder & I added more silver glitter strips on either side.

Here are the Copics I used:

My friend, Jean, on the Splitcoast Technique Lovers Challenge team, asked me to make a sample for today’s TLC877 Challenge. She picked a technique I did a tutorial for 10 years ago! You can see the tutorial HERE on Splitcoast, & I even made a video for it HERE. (You can also view a tutorial I did on my blog HERE.)

This time I did a winter theme & used snowflakes for the bg. I forgot my own advice about using small stamps but was happy to see a white Posca paint pen took care of the few little oversteps.

I will mention, I die cut the stitched back panel first then measured to know where to score the “tiles”. The panel measures 4″x 5.25″ so I scored the lines 1 5/16″ apart. The first time I scored them, I used a Scor-Buddy but found the lines weren’t as deep as when I used a Scor-It board. You want to be sure to use the indented side of the scored bg for your front side.

The teddy was stamped, colored & die cut, popped up a bit on the center panel. The deckle frame was sponged w/ the same set of blue inks I used on the bg & I added a few glitter snowflakes. Here are the Copics I used:

A big congrats to Amy, the newest Featured Stamper (FS774) on Splitcoast! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the dog/doghouse Christmas theme, but used all dies & a different layout & colors on mine. I’m also combining this w/ the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club December Christmas Challenge!  You’ll need to be Fan Club member but that’s easy…just click the blue link to find out how. Bet you’re wondering what the challenge theme is..I’d love to tell you but you’ll have to go see for yourself. Hint..I’m really loving the new theme for this year.

For my doggy Christmas card, I die cut all the pieces for the dog, house, & little Christmas items out of scraps of different colored card stock & put them all together. I added a snowy roofline & chimney w/ smoke to the roof & perched a little bird on there, as well. Only 1 side of a lg scallop die was used for the green trim down the side of the narrow red panel. The dog & house are popped up a bit w/ foam.
