    Fall Flowers 04627
My fall card today features a pretty little Autumn bouquet of flowers & wheat for the Color Challenge (CC499). I tried a technique on the flowers called “stamp etching“.  I didn’t add too many little “etching” lines on the flowers today, but I like the depth they give. After coloring them, I added some gold stickles to centers of the sunflowers and orange stickles to the other 2 little flowers. A few leaf outlines were stamped w/ the rust ink, then overstamped w/ the solid leaf versions using a combo of inks & spritzing. After cutting them out, I wrinkled them so they’d look more realistic.

The argyle background was stamped w/ the peeled paint ink & the diamonds were stamped w/ the scattered straw ink, stamped one off so it wouldn’t be so dark. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.

Welcome to the October Challenge for Serendipity Stamps! This month the challenge is appropriately…Fall/Autumn! You can get all the details over on the Serendipity Challenge Blog.  The DT has the added challenge of using a glue technique. And as always, we have a  have a gift certificate up for grabs to a random player. The sale this week is40% Off Coupon.  Enter “40fromhigh1014” during checkout and get 40% off the highest priced item in the cart.  Good through 10/8.

    One Falling Leaf 04648
Since the DT had the extra challenge of using glue, I started with some leftover pieces of card stock and my hot glue gun on the “low melt” setting. After burning myself one too many times on the hot melt setting, I figured the low setting would be perfect for melting on paper. On the long strip, I first sponged a little fall color on the white textured strip then drizzled the glue haphazardly. While it was still hot, I sprinkled on some sparkly glitter that has some pearl ex like powder in it, waited for it to cool, then brushed off the excess. On the leaf piece, I puddled a bunch of hot glue in a circle, then melted it smooth with my heat gun. Immediately I pressed the small maple leaf into it, let it cool enough to pull the stamp out, heated it again with my heat gun a bit then sprinkled on the same glitter.

The greeting and maple leaves were copper embossed on vanilla. The greeting was die cut and the leaves were fussy cut. Some metallic copper layers and fun fibers were added to finish.

Paper: vanilla, metallic copper, dp (DCWV- naturals matstack), strip of textured white (DCWV), burlap dp (Paper Studio -ETC)

    NCC Garden Gnome 04541

On my first card, I used the super fun & cute Gnome What? set. Love these toadstools and I love coloring them these funky colors. Who says they have to be dull or all brown? I used my out of the box technique and die cut them then fussy cut the reddish brown layer behind it. The cute little garden gnome was also fussy cut. The greeting was die cut with the ODBD Pennants die and addd on top.

The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.

My second card features the super cute Sweet Christmas Wishes set.

After stamping the gingerbread cottage, I masked it and stamped a couple of trees from the Happy Camper set and another on a separate piece of card stock to fussy cut and add on top. After coloring them all and adding the greeting, I added some stickles for a little sparkle. Can’t have too much sparkle on a Christmas card!

    NCC Christmas House cu 04551
I had some striped paper left over from another project which had been die cut w/ a curved border die so I used it on the bottom section. To frame the main image, I used a coordinating green paper from the same ODBD Christmas Collection 2013. A holly w/ red crystal berries was added on top of a big snowflake embellishment to finish it. The card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.
