Berry Tree

Today’s Color Challenge (CC644) on Splitcoaststampers, is red, green & white with the dessert option of making a Christmas card. Got it covered! I’m also adding this to yesterday’s CAS438 Challenge (Christmas in July).

To make my Christmas card, I had a little piece of die cut linen card stock that fit this little berry tree perfectly, so I used it to stamp & color the image. On the larger white layer, I stamped the little flourish image all over using the greens of a Kaleidacolor ink pad then added the green layer. For the greeting, I stamped just the word Christmas by using a green marker then added the red die cut Merry.

Better Boots

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS545) on Splitcoaststampers, so a big congrats to Cindy, the newest Featured Stamper! After much browsing, I chose THIS to case. I kept the circle element at the top & the layout, but I used different images, different colors & left off the shaker.

I love me some boots & no matter how many pair I have, I’m always on the look out for a snazzy pair like these. I call these my Texas Bluebonnet boots. I used colors that remind me of bluebonnets in the spring. Do you think somebody somewhere has actually made boots like these? I hope so..& if I ever find them, they’re coming home w/ me!

After I stamped & colored them, I die cut the circle burst above them then cut a series of circles out of the lime & lavender to fit behind the rings of dots. Half of the greeting was stamped in the center & the rest of it was stamped onto a pennant flag. I added a couple of matching mats to finish.

Red Birthday Flowers

It’s my turn to host the Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper Challenge so a big congrats to AJ Bodine (aka rutabagapie)! Her gallery is full of beautifully colored images & fun designs. After much browsing, I chose THIS to case. I liked the image running over onto the circular frame & the flower theme so I kept those, but I used different images, different colors & I used a die cut for the greeting instead of stamping it.

I’ve had this image for awhile & I’ve been wanting to get it out & use it. So today is the day! After coloring, I smoothed out the blends a little using Prismacolor pencils then I die cut it a couple of times w/ 2 sizes of large ovals. I didn’t have a pierced oval that large so I did it the old fashioned way…w/ the SU piercing set. The outer frame is actually popped up just a bit from the rest of the image. Due to the size of the image, there wasn’t a lot of room left for a greeting but I had a die cut that fit in pretty well. I double stacked it, black on white to give it a little depth.
