A big congrats to Mandy, the newest Featured Stamper (FS603) on Splitcoast! She has such a pretty gallery & after much browsing, I chose THIS to case. I liked the emboss resist & the masked off lower section, so I kept those. But I used different images, different colors & added a die cut image on top.

For my card, I put the white panel in my Misti, masked off the lower 2/3 of it & stamped the poppies w/ London Fog ink. After coloring them in w/ Copics, I overstamped them w/ white pigment ink then heat embossed them w/ white powder. I masked them off then stamped the flourish, embossed it, then sponged in the tumbled glass Distress ink on the background. A separate poppy image was stamped, colored, embossed & die cut w/ the matching die & I added it on top. After stamping the greeting, I added a turquoise layer & some dots w/ metallic white dimensional fabric paint & a few sequins.

Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used for the poppies.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Technique Challenge (TLC680) on Splitcoast is a dark to light gradient background. Well..I have a dark to light to dark bg.

The checkerboard bg was stamped w/ white & clear embossed then I sponged the Distress inks from corner to corner. It was die cut & a very narrow black layer inserted between the 2 cut layers before putting them back together.

I split the greeting up to add the die cut Shine in the center. This die cut word was heat embossed w/ red glitter powder to make it sparkle & shine. I popped up the greeting panel to give it some dimension. Here’s the inside.

    Supplies:

Stamps: DRS Designs –Sun Shine On You, Checkerboard Bg  (inside:  Sunny Day Birthday Greeting)
    Paper: Staples 110# white, black
Ink:  Memento tuxedo black, Colorbox frost white pigment, Distress inks worn lipstick, squeezed lemonade, fired brick, twisted citron, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, salty ocean
Accessories: Lil’ Inker stitched rectangles, Momento shine die, clear embossing powder, red glitter embossing powder, sequins

This next card is for the Color Challenge (CC677) is peach, coral & a lt. emerald.

I came as close as I could to these colors (on the screen, that peach color looks really golden-yellow to me).

The flowers were stamped a bunch of times, colored & fussy cut. I like the look of these long ovals so after stamping the greeting & die cutting them, I arranged all the flowers to the side.

Here’s the inside & the Copic colors I used.

It’s my turn to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge, so a big congrats to Karen! She has a lovely gallery & I was very taken w/ THIS card…the colors, the layout..I just love it. Which is a little strange, because every time I try to use this blackberry or razzleberry color, I get into trouble. For me, they are very hard colors to work with. Anyway, I kept the colors & layout, but used different images & dies & made mine a birthday card.

After I white embossed the flowers & leaves onto white c/s, I sponged on the Distress inks in the purples & blues then die cut the flowers w/ the matching dies. I didn’t have paper anywhere near this purply color so I also sponged the wider strip down the side, then stamped the leaves w/ Versamark. I had to sponge the Wishing word to match, too. The white linen bg was sponged w/ the tumbled glass & the rest of the greeting was stamped w/ the Versafine purple ink. I came across a large bottle of dew drops (remember those?) so I added a few.

Here’s a look at the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
