Welcome to a Special ODBD Birthday Blog Hop! Today we are saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to RICK!

If you’ve been to one of the Stamp Shows or conventions, then you’ve probably seen Rick in the ODBD booth. Rick is Kelley’s husband and number one fan and today is his birthday!

For my birthday card, I used the new Special Boy set. I figured this set was about as masculine as they get and works well for big boys as well as little boys. I made the background for the largest layer and truck image by swiping various colors of Copic markers across a piece of vanilla card stock. Then the truck image and tire tracks were stamped on top of these using the dk brown chalk ink. I fussy cut the truck and attached it to a deckled rectangle of vanilla to give it a bit of separation. The metallic bronze layer was embossed w/ a Sizzix folder and the sentiment was die cut and attached to a leftover strip of the background with small bronze brads. Since I wanted to have crossed checkered flags, I stamped one as usual and stamped one again on the plastic sheet of my SAMJ (stamp-a-ma-jig) then quickly pressed a piece of vanilla c/s on top to get the reverse image.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Birthday, Rick!

This is also for the Sketch Challenge (SC418) on Splitcoast today. As usual, I rearranged it a bit and turned it on its side.

  • ODBD January Release Blog Hop!

Happy New Year! Welcome to the January Our Daily Bread designs Release Blog Hop! You may want to head on over to the  ODBD Blog to start from the beginning.

To stamp the darling little girls silhouette, I used a combo of inks. First I inked it w/ the dk brown chalk ink, then tapped over it w/ the chestnut brown pigment ink. The combo of the inks gave me the color and coverage I wanted for the silhouette. It was stamped directly on a piece of designer paper and die cut w/ a Spellbinders Blossom 4 die. Since my image was near the corner of the paper, I only used a partial die cut and the left side and bottom are the sides of the paper.

I used 3 other pieces of dp plus a chocolate piece from one of the dp  (designer paper) packs for the other layers and a scallop edge die to cut them. The sentiment was also stamped w/ the same ink on more of the dp and cut out in a banner flag shape. I made a quilled flower using a Cuttlebug die and added some die cut leaves in the lower left corner. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great New Year!

  • Happy Birthday, Kelley! ODBD Surprise Blog Hop

    Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

We are so excited today to be posting a special Birthday Wish to Our Daily Bread designs owner … Kelley Holland! This is a very special birthday for Kelley, as it’s the BIG 50!!!

    Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

For my Birthday Card to Kelley, I’m using the fabulous Path of Life set. I knew it would be wonderful paired with the always terrific ODBD Exclusive Window Die by Spellbinders.

The scene was colored with Copics and I attached the die cut window on top. I elevated it slightly to add some depth. For the background, I embossed some Williamsburg blue card stock I had in my stash with a Quickutz stripe label folder. I added a border embossed w/ a Cuttlebug border. The same border was used on the window sill piece. The flowers were made w/ hydrangea, small sun and small daisy punches. The punched tea cup was colored w/ Copics and added just because… Under the window I stamped the birthday greeting and added the curtains.
