Lighten Up!

A big Congrats to Gabby (Gabalot), the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS342)! She has a big, beautiful gallery and I chose THIS card to case. I liked the borders on top and bottom so I kept the layout and the red and white (& added green) colors, but I turned it, used different images and made mine a Christmas card.

The images are from DRS Designs. After stamping the string of lights across the top, I used a Spellbinders bracket border die to cut the bottom in 3 sections. I attached two stamped plaid sections, one red & one green, together and added the cut off borders on top. The greeting and lamp post were fussy cut and attached to my 5.50 4.25 card.

Christmas Candle

Congrats to Heidi, the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS341)! What a big, beautiful gallery she has and I chose THIS card of hers to case. I kept the framed layout with sentiment below, but I used different images, different colors and I made mine a Christmas card.

After I colored the beautiful candle image from DRS Designs w/ Copics, I had to do a little out of the box Nestie technique so the edges of the holly wouldn’t be cut off by the rectangle die. And on the fancy red layer behind it, I used the Nestie resizing technique to make a rectangle out of a square die.

The greeting was die cut using the same die I used for its red tag shape then I cut around the greeting and attached it to the red tag. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used to color the image

Lavender & Lace Christmas

For today’s Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoast (WT439), the challenge is to make your own background using stamps. My background was made using a fun splatter image w/ grape ink and a snowflake background using white ink. I also added a few of the white snowflakes to the top of my main image and stamped the tree line greeting with boysenberry ink. A few snow dots & a white line under the trees were added w/ a white gel pen. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.
