Just a Number cu IM0370
Weekly-Favorite
Today’s Ways to Use It Challenge (WT589) gave me the perfect opportunity to use an idea for numbers dies that I had in the back of mind.  After I die cut all the numbers into the dk orange layer, I added a lt blue layer behind it so the cutouts would show. I attached most of the cutout numbers on top & a plaid layer behind the other two layers. Just a Number IMG0368
It probably took me longer to find the perfect 3 greetings to put together for the little star in the upper left than anything. I put them into my Misti, one at a time then inked the part I wanted w/ a black Tombow marker then repeated since I usually don’t get that a great an image the first time when using a marker instead of ink. The rest of the greeting was curved (it’s a clear stamp, so pretty easy to do) & I used a Double Stitched Circle die to cut the curvy shape around it.

Here’s a look at the inside.

For today’s Clean & Simple (CAS382) Challenge on Splitcoast, the topic is Wing It..use birds, butterflies, bees, etc.  So I have a few little seagulls on my beach scene, flying just outside of the spotlight scene.
Enjoy the Beach 09440
This scene was pretty easy to create. I already had the die cut circle so I put it into my Misti, stamped it w/ Memento, then sponged on the sky, hills & water, colored the sand, sun & tree w/ Copics, then over stamped w/ Versafine. After die cutting the larger white panel, I lined up where I wanted the circle, removed it & stamped the scene again on the background then added the greeting & seagulls. I added a couple of narrow black frames & done!

Here’s a look at the inside.

Star Wish box cu 09397
Weekly-Favorite
Today we are taking another look at the Our Daily Bread designs June Release! Such fabulous dies & stamp/die duo sets! Did you order yours yet?
Star Wish Box 09401
For my project, I created a fun surprise box. The Surprise Box die makes it so easy to do & it’s a blast figuring out which dies to use when decorating it. I went with a birthday stars & presents theme. And I may have gone a little over the top w/ the layers. My box is actually very sturdy as I used a very heavy white c/s for the inside & cut another white layer for the outside (I wanted the inside to be as pretty as the outside w/ the embossing) then added all the die cut paper rectangles, stars & presents around the outside.

This is a better picture of the outside & underside of the flaps. The only problem w/ this box, is how to photograph it. So I took a bunch of pics. Star Wish Box closed IMG0317
The balloons, stars & Wish are so sparkly in person! There’s even a little cupcake tucked under the Wish. I will tell you, to make the Pierced Rectangles & plain Rectangle layers on the outside, I did have to do a little resizing to make them smaller. But that’s pretty easy..just be sure to match up the pierced holes when cutting the other end. Star Wish Box top 09403
I also added another long liner to the outside of the back to use as sort of the inside of a card, where I could write a little message. And this all folds flat-ish to fit in a standard A2 or A6 envelope.
