Archive for November, 2013
Welcome to the North Coast Creations November Release! And we some images just perfect for the pet lovers’ Christmas cards.
On my first card, I used the sweet Santa Paws set. I stamped the puppy and ornament separately and die cut them using the ODBD Circle Ornament dies. I used a larger Spellbinder circle for the gold backings and ornament toppers. A single ODBD pinecone image was stamped behind the ornaments. A curved border die was used on the 2 pieces of Christmas Collection 2013 paper for the lower section. The card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.
Supplies:
Stamps: North Coast Creations –Santa Paws, ODBD – Pinecone Singles |
Paper: Neenah white, metallic gold, ODBD Christmas paper collection 2013 |
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, bamboo leaves |
Accessories: Copic markers, ODBD Circle Ornament dies, Spellbinders circles & curved border dies, puppy button |
On my second card, I used the very cute Santa Claws set. After stamping and coloring with Copics, I used a rectangle die and my Nestie out of the box technique to die cut it. An oval die was used for the greeting and I attached a little die cut bow from the ODBD Circle Ornament dies on top. The large white panel was embossed and attached to a gingham pattern from the Christmas Collection 2013. I also added a narrow strip of the same paper behind the cat along w/ a punched red zigzag.
The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.

Today’s Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoast (WT453) is all about wreaths. I die cut a little wreath out of brushed silver card stock and added some die cut holly leaves and berries cut out of silver mirror card stock. The greeting was silver embossed on some pretty, metallic flecked charcoal card stock. The background was also silver embossed on a larger piece. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and was really easy to make.

Welcome to a new challenge for Serendipity Stamps! The Serendipity Challenge this week is Paper Scraps…make a project and use up some of those paper scraps you have!
For my scrap buster card, I used a whole bunch of little card stock strips..some plain, some embossed. I always have these little strips left when I trim images and I’m pretty well known for saving everything, lol. I’ve made these type of strip backgrounds before, so I dug out some Christmas colors of these strips and stuck them onto a piece of sticker paper. Originally it was 4 x 5.25, but it looked a bit too busy so I cut it down to about 2 x 5 and attached it to left side of my 4.25 x 5.50 card.
After stamping the tree image on white, I also stamped it a few times on some designer paper scraps and paper pieced them onto the base image. I added just a little color w/ Copics and die cut it. One of the Merrys was stamped on a scrap of white and I used a smaller Labels 17 to cut the right side of it.
